I watch the street as strangers pass

Too often I have had the thought
That in a vicious web we’re caught
Our world, tis true, is upside down
And turned our smiles into a frown,
How shall we get our laughter back
We need to find the proper track.
The madness grows day after day

Hypocrisy is all around
It emanates up from the ground
And fills the world with poison air

How little do we know or mind

Each throat is tight and cannot breathe
And struggles hard to find relief.
The madness now does seize us all
From sources which demand our fall
Our hearts are dying one by one
When will this agony be done ?
This land of beauty and great wealth
Our citadel of strength and health
Is under seige by evil force

Time is passing, tick tock, tick tock,
The hands keep moving on the clock
Minutes are speeding one by one
From early dawn till setting sun.
How fast our lives do melt away
While none have found a way to stay
Help us, oh Lord, to seek a trail
Where excess time may be for sale.
Let’s close our eyes and hope and pray
That tomorrow could be the day
We’ll ring a bell and yell ” surprise ”

Oh how I wish I were a bird
Who mimicked every song he’d heard
It would be such great fun to do
A gift of joy between we two.

Perhaps this anger we’ll defeat
And seek a reason to believe

Today is not a holiday
We celebrate like some birthday
Instead it is a mark in time
That saved us all from our decline.

The world we knew was on its knees

As chaos roams from town to town
All citizens may suffer so
The enemy will not let go.
How sad if we should lose control

Tis the time of year when sunshine smiles
And the sky is so clear for miles and miles,
When the birds in the branches of the trees
Circulate their message into the breeze
While the gentle wind does rustle the leaves
Now playing in the shadow of the eaves.
The trees seem to yawn and stretch in the sun
As spreading shrubs have their flowers begun
So it is that our world of growing green
Paints pictures to all of beauty obscene !
