What would You do to save us from
The storm we know is soon to come
How will You guard us, help us rise
Above this hell that’s in disguise ?
We need You now, teach us to care
That we may all Your wisdom share !
What would You do to save us from
The storm we know is soon to come
How will You guard us, help us rise
Above this hell that’s in disguise ?
We need You now, teach us to care
That we may all Your wisdom share !
Take a good look around and tell me what you see
The beauty that is God’s and life’s infinity
Please hold me by the hand and teach me how to pray
Help me to love God and to worship Him each day !
AMEN.
My heart cries out for all the pain
That visits man again, again
And where’s the peace we’re waiting for
Seems only stress walks through the door.
How much longer must this world wait
For all its chaos to abate,
What happens to the good that’s done
As years fly by, one after one,
Revering God, His perfect Word
The love and wisdom all have heard ?
Well here we are at God’s front door
What is it we are waiting for
An invitation to come in
A smile, a kiss, a foolish grin ?
We’ve not much time, let’s hurry up
And place our futures in His cup
We cannot fail to understand
Calamity is close at hand.
The world is crumbling as we wait
For destiny to crash this gate
Oh, Lord above, do heed our plea
Open our eyes and set us free !
Through thick and thin we did begin
Our journey long by charging in
Our courage hasn’t failed before
We stand our ground forever more.
No cowardice to e’er be found
Wherein our qualities abound
We are a nation based on truth
Oft overcome by leaked uncouth.
It matters small we’ve manners rude
Or if our language appears crude
For we are but an arm of strength
Protecting God and friends at length !
The years have been passing, one by one
Since this world we live in has begun
Now that’s a longtime by anyone’s gauge
Getting us all to setup the stage.
So now here we are ready to go
Grasping our dreams and hoping to grow,
Give us a boost and help us succeed
Grant us the strength to standup and lead !
My heart flies high, it has grown wings
My soul so free that now it sings
Strains of music to teach us dance
Each moment brings a new romance.
The world round me is full of joy
With happiness one needs employ
However long that we are free
May God bless all we chance to be !
Whatever war that has been fought
Tis one more lesson to be taught
For no one wins as each has lost
And every war does have great cost.
Sometimes it takes a lifetime long
To hear the ring of freedom’s song
There is a price that all must pay
To win the battle of the day.
Therefore when lives do meet their end
And each has chosen foe and friend
The choice one makes on that last day
Will stand forever, come what may !
From my front window I can see
The most exciting industry
All of God’s creatures hard at work
With not a single one who’ll shirk
How marvelous that it must be
Assured our God provides for thee.
Tis true that neither you nor I
Have the ability to fly
But we are charged by destiny
To help His creatures remain free
This has been so since ages past
Let’s help the system work to last !
The dawn’s slow rolling o’er the hill
The air is tense, silent and still
This scene is quiet, fast asleep
While we’ve this mission we need keep
The world about is tossed amiss
And chaos rules instead of bliss
When will this peace we’re searching for
Arrive at last at our front door ?
Old Solomon, he was a king
Who did possess most everything
He was the wisest of all men
None would e’er be alike again.
His instructions came from above
Conerning God and His great love
For forty years he ruled replete
His job, God’s Temple to complete.
This task achieved in seven years
And lauded by both prayer and tears
Oh sad end for King David’s son
He’d lost his way and was undone !
Across the meadows of the sky
The scattered clouds are drifting by
Like puffs of cotton hung in space
All seeming to be out of place
The clouds diminish one by one
Until the skies of day are done !
Oh gentle beast, I see you there
Alone close by your hidden lair
The winter’s been and is half gone
Tis soon the season will march on.
Those little ones who have survived
Must learn right now to keep alive
To run and hide and secret be
Escaping this hostility.
Oh what a lesson life does teach
To all who would adulthood reach
In fact, we know the truth is cruel
This gift of life’s not meant for fools !
Of recent times I’ve been so ill
With lengthy days and endless nights
That brought my life and mind a chill
And filled my soul with countless frights.
Tis true I am far better now
But need to be secure and smart
I’ll have to figure out just how
To keep God’s Word close to my heart !
Oh Solomon, where is thy wisdom now
What confidence your heart and you allow
What kindness does it take for you to live
With all that wisdom that is yours to give ?
Oh foolishness beyond your every dream
Are you as true or only that you seem ?
In the quiet of the evening
As shades of night begin to fall
And the time of our believing
Gently whispers goodnight to all,
Grasp the moment and remember
The days of old we used to know
Be it May or late December
In sunshine, rain or early snow,
Where we have learned to close our eyes
Each waiting the advent of light
With no assurance of surprise
This is no longer our last sight !
I sight the sunrise o’er the hill
It’s vision sends my heart a thrill
How wonderful it is to see
A world wrapt in God’s symmetry.
I hear the rustle of the leaves
They whisper in the morning breeze
What is it they all preach to me
Regarding God’s infinity ?
I feel the impact of His power
Increasing with each passing hour
The mark He leaves, indelible
Because He is infallible !
There is no way I understand
How tempers get so out of hand
I’ve never seen such anger shown
From persons both known and unknown
What is there that can rile one up
Enough to overflow the cup ?
We’ve seen the foolishness of some
Who cannot seem to overcome
This sad behavior they have used
On those they’ve bullied or abused
Perhaps through faith and time alone
They’ll seek God’s wisdom to atone !
Oh daddy dear what can you say
To get me through this scary day
And help me face my wildest fears
With the vast wisdom of your years ?
What shall I do now I am grown
To find my way back to my home
With you not there to shelter me
From stress that life shares frequently ?
Oh daddy dear I miss you so
Too great a loss, why did you go
I pray we’ll meet again one day
In God’s sweet land of far away !
Now I have trudged this rocky path
With angry crowds so full of wrath
I really don’t know what to think
Seems sanity is on the brink
There’s not much left to make great sense
The climate has become intense.
Participants are so inclined
Pretending to be dumb and blind
But stop before one does the deed
The rule in hand all must concede
The Lord demands that he alone
Who sinless be, cast the first stone !
I’ve watched the snowflakes filter down
And heard the rain pelter the ground
I’ve seen the stars zip cross the sky
While clouds above are flying by.
I’ve felt the wind rush through the air
As autumn helped her trees go bare
The summer rains are fresh and clear
And hum a song the birds can hear.
The world’s in tune, the season’s bright
Tis soon to bid all sweet goodnight !
Oh mighty owl high in my tree
I pray you do not pressure me
I’m not prepared for your bad news
Luck is the thing that I could use.
There are some stories I have heard
About your wisdom and your word
How you instill a certain fear
In all of those who dare to hear.
Please help me out sir, if you can
For I am born of mortal man
My needs are small, my chances few
I sure would like some help from who ?
We shall not run out of values at stake
That is an action that we will not take
For the facts are what this is all about
Either spoken gently or with a shout,
Only time can tell as each day rolls on
There is this thought that we depend upon.
When the winter’s young and the cold is new
We own the courage to make this come true
That as we age and experience mounts
There is the moment when true wisdom counts.
You may do your best making fools of all,
But who will stand at last clarion’s call ?
Tis true that tears are often sweet
That courage rises from defeat,
That wisdom needs to curb its cheek
With all those words that it may speak.
While silence is the calmest way
To channel all our fears away
It’s working hard that is the call
To save us from decline and fall !
I hope I never see the day
When all my words have fled away
And all the thoughts that fill my head
From morn to night are left unsaid.
But when that happens, heed me now
I pray you will recall somehow
My words have been both kind and wise
And taught you truth prevails o’er lies !
A man who ruled in ancient history
And was a victim of iniquity,
Inspired by heroic deeds galore
You’ve heard the legends and the myths before.
His name still haunts the halls of storyland
With visions bold and virtues deemed so grand
This man of wisdom held his honor high
And strove for justice long before he died !
HAIL ARTHUR AND HIS KNIGHTS !
There’s much to be said for a life well spent
More to be taught from what the years have lent !
Now I have trod thouands of miles
From the Highlands to the low
And wandered o’er its paths and stiles
Threading through the fields that grow.
I’ve hiked so many mountain peaks
And clambered over rough stone
I’m bored by shopping and boutiques
I prefer to trek alone.
It’s ancient times that intrigue me
With stories that I have known,
What’s captured me is history
And the legends it has sown !
