Oh charity, be kind to me
Please help me set my body free
How much longer can I persist
What shall I do to pain resist ?
At times I’m sure there’ll be no end
More like a life without a friend
I didn’t think I’d have to bear
Unending pain or deep despair.
I am not angered or divorced
With all the issues time’s enforced
I only know that God is there
To ease all pain and answer prayer !
Oh Lord, protect us from our sin
Open Your heart and let us in
Please hear our every humble prayer
And let us be sure that You’re there,
Life is so full of joy we know
Because tis true, You love us so !

Because I was and am no more
Before all hope slips out the door
And leaves me here out on my own
With what I fear is yet unknown
I beg You, Lord, bide with me still
Until I’ve learned to do His will !
Well here we are at God’s front door
What is it we are waiting for
An invitation to come in
A smile, a kiss, a foolish grin ?
We’ve not much time, let’s hurry up
And place our futures in His cup
We cannot fail to understand
Calamity is close at hand.
The world is crumbling as we wait
For destiny to crash this gate
Oh, Lord above, do heed our plea
Open our eyes and set us free !
Through thick and thin we did begin
Our journey long by charging in
Our courage hasn’t failed before
We stand our ground forever more.
No cowardice to e’er be found
Wherein our qualities abound
We are a nation based on truth
Oft overcome by leaked uncouth.
It matters small we’ve manners rude
Or if our language appears crude
For we are but an arm of strength
Protecting God and friends at length !
Long time ago when I was young
We had great songs that could be sung
About our nation and our lives
And thousands over time survives.
These words of courage carry on
With impact of the clarion
They sing of life and love and care
Of hope and joy, grief and despair.
Let’s lend our voice to all we feel
Because our sentiment is real
Like all the verses we have heard
Repeat to us God’s promised word !
A little bird there on the wing
His pretty song did choose to sing
The notes did travel on the air
To lend the hour a special flair,
Oh how I wish that I could be
So like that bird, joyous and free !
Days come and go, life is that way
We live in hope, then fade away
The days are long but time is short
While in life’s web, we are all caught.
The chances are we’re not done yet
There is much more that we can get
Let’s fill our hearts, fulfill our dreams
And love our God just reams and reams !
Though I am old, I can recall
Those golden days when I was small
When I was but a growing tyke
With stuff I liked or did not like.
I was not tall nor ego prone
Far long ere my ideas were sown
I liked to play quite by myself
With my stuffed friends upon the shelf.
Most lives were so much simpler then
We wrote with ink and nib and pen
There were few ways we got about
While horse and wagon still stand out.
We learned to treasure moments past
Dear God, those years were one big blast !
Oh dearest Lord, what shall I do
My stay on earth too soon is through
I leave my love and heart behind
For family and friends to find.
But if I’m gone and no one’s there
Who will be left to truly care,
I pray that you remember me
With kindness and simplicity.
My closing thought regarding this
To seal my word with one last kiss
I charge you now for all times sake
This is a promise I shan’t break !
The air is damp and holds a chill
The wind is wet and oh so still
There is no sound that can be heard
No peep or chirp from any bird.
Tis like a prelude to a storm
Wherein the clouds have yet to form
Help me, oh Lord, to find release
To spend my days in quiet peace !

From my perch here above the crowd
I see the sun behind the cloud
The light it filters through the blind
To focus on my troubled mind
And brings to me a message of
The peace of God’s eternal love.
I feel the warmth of love and care
It fills my heart, it’s everywhere
Oh what a joy each day does bring
True love that from our God does spring !
Corruption bides a care away
Assailing all, day after day
With evil lurking everywhere
Around the corner, up the stair.
The malice and the discontent
Behind each issue and event
Spurred on by those who envy all
And wage no other lifetime call.
Tis sad to think so many more
Are rushing through our broken door
And bringing nought to help our side
Each seeking but a free landslide !
There is a chance that you and I
One day will have to bid goodbye
But who knows when or wonders why
Who made the rules that do apply ?
How often is it that we think
This world of ours is on the brink ?
What e’er occurs within our sight
No matter if it’s left or right
Should savour all despite the fear
God’s Judgement Day moves ever near !
My dearest friend I’m missing you
With all my heart when I am blue
We were great friends through all the years
Times were we laughed or cried real tears.
Some days were good and some were bad
We beat the odds though life was sad
I truly wish you were still here
For one last time to bend your ear !
MISS YOU.
My morning thoughts are crystal clear
They help discern why I am here
How shall I know the path to take
To live my life void of mistake !
When first I held you in my arms
My sweetest child so full of charm
You stole my heart and my soul too
Like no one person e’er could do
I never thought that life would be
Full of this joy you’ve brought to me.
In all the years you did not fail
Or steal the wind out of my sail
We’ve weathered every sort of storm
And kept our lives about the norm
Tis tragic that you couldn’t stay
Wherein at last my heart will lay !
I watch the stars fade in and out
So patiently, night after night
And wonder why they’re so devout
And why they shine so clear and bright.
Sometimes I fear that cannot last
For even stars fall out of sight
Oh, what an image they have cast
With their eternal blinking light !
There are no guarantees in life
For mother, child, husband or wife,
We all have travelled on life’s road
Unburdened or with heavy load
There is no crowd to cheer us on
No magic words to lean upon
No tragic curse that we’re aware
Or law that says what must be fair.
We understand that on each path
There can be times of doubt or wrath
Yet often seems so very sweet
When hope and joy with love compete
I do not know the why of it
And pray most times that we shall fit !
What is it I can do for you
Encouraging each wish comes true,
Seeking for you a safer place
Increase the smile upon your face ?
How may I ease your weary day
Help chase your fearful cares away
Decrease the lonely burden of
A life’s existence without love ?
Is there some joy that I may gift
Ensuring you that spirit’s lift
And promise that I shall try hard
To be there as you search for God !
Today we rose to sunny skies
While not expecting some surprise
The winds that blew seemed well behaved
Tree limbs and branches all were saved.
Soon autumn will reach our front door
And summer breeze will blow no more
Before too long the year shall pass
Like shadows in the looking glass
Oh Lord, give all the pow’r to rise
Once more to sight sweet summer skies !
Sometimes I want to yell and scream
To exit from this madd’ning scene
The world I love is gone from here
It shall not ever reappear.
Instead all that I’ve valued so
Packed up its bags and had to go
Tis sad the time has gone
No reason left to carry on.
Small matter what we say or do
Our stay on earth is overdue
Let’s count our blessings one by one
And thank the Lord this journey’s done !
Shimmering stars are seen at night
Displaying all their brilliant light
Creating highways in the sky
On which explorers do rely.
I wish that we on earth could know
The magic that God’s sky does show
Of life as is and how we learn
To choose our path at every turn !
We must believe that nature’s force
Will have its way and run its course
For we are victims of each storm
But who knows where or in what form ?
I’d like to think the world is round
With changing seasons that abound
Midst mountains that are peaked in snow
And hills that meet with fields below
With every type of plant and leaf
To pique our brain and find relief.
There is one God, He is Supreme
And is the answer to each scheme
No matter what our nature brings
God’s the reason our earth still sings !
I see the patterns on the wall
Of where the rays of sun do fall
Tis only with a mild constraint
One thinks about the fading paint
But rather all the joy we find
When sunlight flickers through the mind
And raises spirits sometimes lost
To heights without a greater cost !
My dearest boy what can I say
Just how I miss you every day
Your happy laugh, your smiling face
Uneven jog and rapid pace.
Your energy and constant chat
A lot of this, a bit of that,
In all those years I never knew
A single thing you could not do.
Your interest in those about
Made you a student most devout
I never saw you fall apart
So sure of mind and strong of heart !
To those I’ve known and loved before
Whose memories my heart has stored
Here in the reaches of my mind
Midst joy and feeings ever kind,
Remember that I’ll miss you all
And pray the Lord is at your call
While angels spread their wings above
And bathe you in God’s constant love !
