Well here we are at God’s front door
What is it we are waiting for
An invitation to come in
A smile, a kiss, a foolish grin ?
We’ve not much time, let’s hurry up
And place our futures in His cup
We cannot fail to understand
Calamity is close at hand.
The world is crumbling as we wait
For destiny to crash this gate
Oh, Lord above, do heed our plea
Open our eyes and set us free !
Through thick and thin we did begin
Our journey long by charging in
Our courage hasn’t failed before
We stand our ground forever more.
No cowardice to e’er be found
Wherein our qualities abound
We are a nation based on truth
Oft overcome by leaked uncouth.
It matters small we’ve manners rude
Or if our language appears crude
For we are but an arm of strength
Protecting God and friends at length !
Long time ago when I was young
We had great songs that could be sung
About our nation and our lives
And thousands over time survives.
These words of courage carry on
With impact of the clarion
They sing of life and love and care
Of hope and joy, grief and despair.
Let’s lend our voice to all we feel
Because our sentiment is real
Like all the verses we have heard
Repeat to us God’s promised word !
Days come and go, life is that way
We live in hope, then fade away
The days are long but time is short
While in life’s web, we are all caught.
The chances are we’re not done yet
There is much more that we can get
Let’s fill our hearts, fulfill our dreams
And love our God just reams and reams !
Oh dearest Lord, what shall I do
My stay on earth too soon is through
I leave my love and heart behind
For family and friends to find.
But if I’m gone and no one’s there
Who will be left to truly care,
I pray that you remember me
With kindness and simplicity.
My closing thought regarding this
To seal my word with one last kiss
I charge you now for all times sake
This is a promise I shan’t break !
The air is damp and holds a chill
The wind is wet and oh so still
There is no sound that can be heard
No peep or chirp from any bird.
Tis like a prelude to a storm
Wherein the clouds have yet to form
Help me, oh Lord, to find release
To spend my days in quiet peace !

From my perch here above the crowd
I see the sun behind the cloud
The light it filters through the blind
To focus on my troubled mind
And brings to me a message of
The peace of God’s eternal love.
I feel the warmth of love and care
It fills my heart, it’s everywhere
Oh what a joy each day does bring
True love that from our God does spring !
What is it I can do for you
Encouraging each wish comes true,
Seeking for you a safer place
Increase the smile upon your face ?
How may I ease your weary day
Help chase your fearful cares away
Decrease the lonely burden of
A life’s existence without love ?
Is there some joy that I may gift
Ensuring you that spirit’s lift
And promise that I shall try hard
To be there as you search for God !
I see the patterns on the wall
Of where the rays of sun do fall
Tis only with a mild constraint
One thinks about the fading paint
But rather all the joy we find
When sunlight flickers through the mind
And raises spirits sometimes lost
To heights without a greater cost !
How simple all our lives might be
If wrapped in God’s security
So we could make the truth our goal
And bury lies in some vast hole.
T’would save us all from Satan’s reach
And to the world a lesson teach
That all may know of God’s intent
And to our lives danger prevent !
There is a shadow that we fear
Its size increasing year by year
It towers o’er our greatest aim
And poses threats to God’s good name,
The world appears to welcome all
Who answer to old Satan’s call
While sadly, they may do his will
Until their lives at last are still.
Oh Lord above, please bring us peace
From evil’s grip grant us release,
Help us accept Your quiet ways
Increase our love and guard our days !
I’ve often wondered what it is I’d do
If I had the chance to begin anew
I’m not so sure that I should venture there
Without someone Special willing to care,
For life on one’s own can be a bit much
Especially if you have lost your touch
How I do wish that tomorrow may bring
Another day with a sweet song to sing
To open my eyes and give me the will
To reach out to God for His magic pill !
The scenes of summer quickly fly
Like angel wings across the sky
Reminding all that life is fleet
And full of days both sad and sweet.
The memories of yesterday
Sometimes get lost along the way
The seasons come and then they go
For we shall reap as we do sow !
There are times my pain evinces fears
And burdens life with unwanted tears
Moments when one is upended by
A lack of concern or passersby
Please help me Lord, so I may erase
The spell of doom that now clouds my face !
For all I am or pray to be
Or all that I shall ever see
Of life revolving around me
Please save me from infinity !
Have you e’er pondered over angel wings
How they could get caught in our worldly things
Such as doors, windows and archways or screens
Or limbs of trees or in branches of greens ?
How do they manage to dress up each day
Looking so sweet in angelic display
I wonder if they wear stockings or boots
Do they prefer eating ice cream or fruits ?
Isn’t it strange that we know nothing more
Of where they’ve been until now and before
I’d sure like to find some lessons to use
To help me decide which pathway to choose !
A heart so full it cannot breathe
The gift of love from God received
A joy we all hope to believe
With goals we may at last achieve !
I had a talk with myself today
Hoping to find a much better way
To cope with life and its ups and down
Learn to be happy and lose your frown
Take a moment and rethink your goal
Deep down inside your heart and your soul.
Be slow to anger, avoid the strife
Try to be pleasant most of your life
Remember the Lord, He is your strength
And is with you for all your life’s length !
So often that I’ve wished to be
The star upon your Christmas tree
A candle on your birthday cake
And privy to each wish you make.
I prayed quite hard that you and I
Would be together by and by
And now my world is part of yours
You’re my umbrella when it pours.
There is a God who watches o’er
His children that He does adore
I’m positive He loves us all
And picks us up ere we should fall
I’m sure He knew that we might be
In love for all eternity !
Oh blessed Lord, help me to find
The path that does to heaven wind
I want to aid and clear the way
For all of those who wish to stay
I can’t believe the time grows near
The day of judgement soon is here !
I lost my heart when I was young
To Jesus, Lord, through hymns we’d sung
The music touched me to my soul
To be with God became my goal.
Throughout the years I’ve wondered why
These hymnal verses make me cry
The beauty that is God’s to give
Shall in our hearts forever live !
The day is gray and full of gloom
There’s not a rainbow in my room
The sun itself has hid away
Refusing to come out and play
The air is heavy and morose
It’s hard to breathe and ever close !
Perhaps the weather will perk up
Before it is our time to sup
We’ll take a glass of wine or two
Remembering our rendezvous
And ask the Lord to help us spend
One evening that may never end !
I hear the sound of running feet
It fills my heart with pride replete
Midst noise of children in the street
And all their antics with each feat
They’ve not yet learned to be discreet
Reminding all how time is fleet !
All of life’s good things come to an end
Please have no fear, oh my dearest friend,
As you and I have known far too long
In the scheme of time, where we belong.
I oft wonder where the days have gone
With all of those we’ve counted upon
Let us say a prayer and thank our Lord
Keep body and mind with one accord !
When I was young and words were few
Seems that I knew just what to do
I’d “ape” the sounds that I had heard
Turned out that each was but a word.
Soon I was there upon the stage
At rather quite an early age
With words and syllables to speak
Like some enchanted childhood freak.
I never thought back in those days
That I’d wind up in high school plays
I learned to sing and tap dance too
With lessons from the age of two.
Quite long I’d been an only child
Forever charming and beguiled
With discipline supplied on call
And kisses shared with every fall.
Today we miss what used to be
Safe childhood and security
Our faith is great it’s taught us this
All lives were meant to share God’s bliss !
I love You Lord, You are my strength
For You I’d go to any length
No distance is too far for me
Because You’re my eternity !
I find myself alone at last
With memories of times long passed
Regrets and sorrows I can’t lose
And if I’ve choice, some I won’t choose.
Days when my heart reached for the sky
As all my dreams did upward fly
And life had opened up the door
That held my hopes forevermore.
Alas those dreams did disappear
To fill my life with cautious fear
I’ve little strength left to help fight
Without God’s aid to do what’s right !
I hear the whistle on the track
It seems to signal “hurry back”,
So many indications sound
That help us to get all around
A whistle blows, a bell may ring
Birds in the trees, their voices sing
There is a message to be heard
Tis time to treasure every word
Be ready to accept the call
We know that pride precedes a fall
Take care to listen to what’s said
And love your God with heart and head !
