There is this place so faraway
Where angels and God’s cherubs play
It’s full of dreams and atmosphere
And lots of love and laughs and cheer
A perfect spot we cannot share
Until our Lord invites us there !
There is this place so faraway
Where angels and God’s cherubs play
It’s full of dreams and atmosphere
And lots of love and laughs and cheer
A perfect spot we cannot share
Until our Lord invites us there !
I’ve grown through all these many years or so
It seems there’s really no place left to go
There’s no way yet to thrive in outer space
In truth it’s not a safe or happy place.
I’d rather be stuck in a cardboard box
Or forced to walk without both shoes and sox
Than sacrifice the pleasures that I’ve known
Among my family and friends at home.
At this stage of life I find I’m confined
By the strings of our love and joy combined
I believe that I’ll simply hang around
Until God’s solution at last is found !
True friendship is the kindest thing
It moves the heart to smile and sing
And raises all our hopes and joys
Like birthday gifts and children’s toys.
It’s a blessing that loving shares
To soothe the beast midst worldly cares
For without friends one’s cast aside
Into life’s emptiness outside
To languish wasted on the vine
Without the warmth of auld lang syne !
Sometimes it’s hard to believe God sees
All the troubled souls upon their knees
Like those broken children still confined
To a system that’s both deaf and blind
And the hungry masses on the road
Have no one there to lighten the load.
Their dreams of glory shrivel and die
As the rest of the world passes by
While you and I don’t know what to do
Please help us Lord, we haven’t a clue !
There is a place where I can see
This nation’s flag wave over me
The flag it flies with colors bright
It is an oh so wondrous sight
And promises this great surprise
To open every stranger’s eyes
Instilling confidence and pride
With love that wells up deep inside
Old Glory may she ever wave
And all our dreams, help us to save !
What madness does this world possess
That causes all such great distress
What petty nonsense fills our days
We’re sure is nourished by malaise ?
For eons we’ve endured the pain
And fought evil most times in vain
This has become the earth’s sad scourge
There’s no more action one may urge.
Now we are here with shattered dreams
Leftover tears and useless schemes
The best there is, it’s all we’ve got
With chances to succeed or not !
The stars that show in night time sky
Remind us all that God is nigh
Oh such great treasure we can see
That shines through all infinity.
The skies are ageless evermore
A world in which exists no door
There are no limits no restraints
This place where angels bide with saints !
My tears are for the many men
Who never will go home again
Like those who pledged to give it all
In battle’s heat as they did fall.
Oh Lord in Heaven hear my plea
They gave their lives for me and Thee
Their sacrifice was far too great
With rewards that arrive too late !
There was a child born long ago
It is a story we all know
A sky bathed in celestial light
With one star burning ever bright.
That tiny babe lay mongst the sheep
With angels guarding Him asleep
The heavens knew and marked that place
With holiness time can’t erase.
That baby boy would grow to be
The saviour of humanity
A whole world knows His blessed name
There’s been none else of greater fame !
Why do we dream, what’s that about
And why is life so full of doubt,
I cannot question, God exists
My trust in Him ever persists !
This world is all there is to share
In time with love and hope and care
Though lives of men have limits set
We promise Lord we’ve no regret !
I see the flag o’er coffins draped
Our values and our nation raped
And youth that we look forward to
Who shall inherit all we do ?
These are the victims of the crime
That worsens with passing of time
Oh Lord, please say a special prayer
To save us from this dark despair !
I never thought I’d rue the day
Once that I gave my heart away,
I stored my dreams upon the shelf
With no reserve about myself.
This life I planned of magic theme
Would ne’er become idyllic scheme
It didn’t take too long to see
True happiness is never free
No matter how we try and try
There’s no kind way to say goodbye !
Oh goblins and spooks, skeletons and ghosts
These are the spirits who play today’s hosts
Pirates, buccaneers are part of the game
All masquerading to act in the name.
As All Hallows Eve the world knows it best
With bonfires and masks the Celts showed their zest,
Marking the end of summertime’s lush
Embracing the dark of cold, snow and slush !
There is a God, I know it’s true
I’d really like to share with you
However that is not my choice
Each must decide with their own voice.
I cannot but supply the facts
Depends on you how one reacts
There is a book, you know which one
It’s older than the Sugar Plum.
This book was writ on parchment roll
And wound up in clay jars of scroll
Hidden away two thousand years
Written by scores of ancient seers.
It is the world’s most famous book
Perhaps one day, you’ll take a look !
The day grows short as twilight nears
Increasing all impending fears
The darkness moves in closer now
Casting its shadow cross the brow
Welcome to night time one and all
We’re making ready for the call
That detours each along the way
Before our lives just melt away !
I sight the sunrise o’er the hill
It’s vision sends my heart a thrill
How wonderful it is to see
A world wrapt in God’s symmetry.
I hear the rustle of the leaves
They whisper in the morning breeze
What is it they all preach to me
Regarding God’s infinity ?
I feel the impact of His power
Increasing with each passing hour
The mark He leaves, indelible
Because He is infallible !
Our world is full of so many things
Like flightless birds and squirrels with wings
Plants that eat insects and fish that fly
All a gift from our God up on high.
A pattern of perfect He has planned
Covering oceans, skies and all land
Aren’t we lucky He’s so intense
And Master of all of life’s events !
And so it is each day begins
We are all equal, no one wins
The wheels, they turn and turn again
But who’ll survive remember when ?
The moment comes then fades away
In all of this, who gets to stay
As life continues its short climb
Then faces change time after time ?
Though no one wins in this relay
Existence spans without delay
The days of man all numbered are
And no one ever gets too far !
The morn awakes and yawns aloud
The sky is clear, there’s ne’er a cloud
A breeze o’erhead begins to blow
We’re in the midst of autumn’s show.
Her colors changing every day
Glow brighter still along the way
How wonderful God’s palette is
Creating pigments, He’s a whiz !
Christopher Robin and Tigger too
These are the friends of Winnie-the-Pooh
There in the woods where they all do go
That’s where it happens, best as I know.
In a tree’s hollow under a beech
See Piglet run and hear the Owl screech
I’d love to be a bump on the log
As Eeyore and Roo go for a jog.
Many a child’s been given a thrill
Hearing their tales and many more will !
PLEASE READ THE ORIGINAL “TEDDY BEAR” BY A. A. MILNE
A WONDERFUL POEM OF 102 LINES ! YOU’LL LOVE IT !!.
I often wonder where I’m at
And if the world outside is flat
I get so tired of searching for
A place to put my head in store !
I really need another chance
To take a stab at true romance
And give life’s wheel a healthy spin
To learn what stage of age I’m in.
Oh, Mother Nature have you heard
My prayers for help, my every word
It can’t be too extreme a task
I beg it’s not too much to ask !
There is no way I understand
How tempers get so out of hand
I’ve never seen such anger shown
From persons both known and unknown
What is there that can rile one up
Enough to overflow the cup ?
We’ve seen the foolishness of some
Who cannot seem to overcome
This sad behavior they have used
On those they’ve bullied or abused
Perhaps through faith and time alone
They’ll seek God’s wisdom to atone !
I find that life at best is strange
Though I’m not opting for a change
Nor am I saying that it’s bad
What choices are there to be had ?
It seems to me, we have no say
As lives evolve from day to day
Tis time that we accept the fact
It’s God who pens the final act !
There is this hymn I used to hear
Sung ever softly on my ear
When I was young and oh, so small
I loved that tune the best of all.
It was my night time beddie-bye
The one mom sang if I did cry
I taught my children that same song
When they were young we’d sing along.
We did so quite religiously
In joy and pleasure frequently !

Sometimes the dream you’re waiting for
Lies just outside your own front door
Sometimes success that you pursue
Is something you already knew.
Sometimes your life becomes intense
If you’ve no taste for self defense
And when you fumble or you fall
Remember please to standup tall !
