Celestial bodies in the sky
All flash and wink in passing by
I wonder if they query why
No other objects fly so high !
Celestial bodies in the sky
All flash and wink in passing by
I wonder if they query why
No other objects fly so high !
Each morn the sun shines from the east
Creating morning’s sunshine feast
You’ll view it coming down the street
Moving as though on turtle feet.
At last arriving at the door
The windows bathed in sun galore
To flood the room with so much bright
That some are blinded by the sight.
Pure yellow midst each sunlight’s glow
And magnified as it will show
The colors spread all through the space
A part of God’s amazing Grace !
Observe the sky, today it’s gray
And changes colors day by day
But now is winter time and so
We can’t be sure what hues will show.
The golden glows of summertime
Do verge upon a scene sublime
I most prefer the plums and pinks
Especially as sundown sinks.
I wonder if the Lord can see
How glorious His sky must be
To all of us who looking up
Adore His overflowing cup ?
The morn awakes and yawns aloud
The sky is clear, there’s ne’er a cloud
A breeze o’erhead begins to blow
We’re in the midst of autumn’s show.
Her colors changing every day
Glow brighter still along the way
How wonderful God’s palette is
Creating pigments, He’s a whiz !
Whatever is it that I spy
Is that a rainbow in the sky,
The colors are so crisp and clear
Is it the first for me this year ?
Those seven colors that I see
Bring such great joy to giddy me
Red, orange, yellow, green and blue
Indigo and violet too.
Quite a vision that all may share
I wish that I could fly up there
And touch that rainbow God did paint
To find out if it is or ain’t.
God left His mark there in the sky
Reminding us He does not lie !
The colors of the rainbow bright
They run amuck from dark to light
No shades of gray for us to find
For who of us is color blind ?
The madness of the world about
Has tendencies to rage and shout
They cannot see or do not note
What color to us each connotes.
I’d like to think my world could be
Bathed in true colored harmony !
We search for the rainbow to show
These colors wherever we go
The blue for the calm of the sky
The yellow to keep our hope high
Green to remind us of rebirth
And brown like the color of earth.
There’s purple to honor our love
Of God and the angels above
While red brings great passion to life
With orange to challenge the strife.
Now lavender favors our past
The pink helps the sweetness to last.
The chartreuse works to calm the mind
But aqua seeks patience to find
The peach has a wonderful glow
And the gray, the wisdom to know.
I think the magenta’s the best
It outshines the whole of the rest
I wonder if God wore a coat
Would pale lily capture His vote ?
