Sometimes I believe that I can’t take
Another bit of this heart to break
I’ve now gotten used to every crack
Soon it’s time to get my courage back.
I refuse to find myself abused
It’s unhealthy and I’m unamused
Perhaps with patience there is a way
For me to chase all my fears away
I know that the Lord is always there
I’m assured that He is just and fair !
I wish that I could gift to you
A dreamcatcher to get you through
The darkest night or scary day
And carry all your fears away.
To bring you quiet through each night
So your nightmares would all take flight
As angels hovered o’er your bed
To leave you peace and love instead !

I find now that I little care
About my future, what I wear
I’m more concerned bout who I am
Not if my eggs are served with ham.
I’ve tried my best to stand up tall
To give my God the best of all
And spread His word across the land
By word of mouth and clasp of hand.
I will not fail, I know my task
That’s not so very much to ask !
There is this whisper that I hear
Sometimes it rumbles in my ear
And slowly as I rise from sleep
Into my mind the words do creep
I’ve learned to listen to that voice
And o’er the years I’ve made my choice.
Each morn becomes another day
A fresh beginning in its way
How wonderful our God has been
To gift us with this chance to win !
The sun is up the day is fair
A sound of calm does fill the air
The birds above are on the wing
I hear the sounds they chirp and sing
The wind’s at rest among the trees
Enchanting all with gentle breeze.
I spied a sparrow in the nest
Who seems as peaceful as the rest
Of all God’s creatures that I see
And find I’m jealous as can be !
I praise You Lord, You are the King
You are the Boss of everything
The earth, the sun, the moon on high
And all the objects in the sky !
How great You are, the world can’t know
This universe is Your big show
I love You Lord, please lead the way
I pray You’ll help us save the day !
When I was small I used to play
In my front yard ‘most every day
My mother did not preach to me
That strangers were the enemy.
Now that was ever long ago
When folks about were kind you know
Our values were so different then
Doors were not locked but kept open.
We’ve lost our innocence I think
It seems we’re trembling on the brink
Of this sad world about to bust
For lack of faith or hope or trust !
I love you God can You not see
Dear blessed Lord You are the Key
How natural it is to be
Included in Your company ?
It’t early morn, the wind’s a thief
And carries danger not relief
The dampness cuts right to the bone
There is no cure or safety zone.
Tis best if we prepare ahead
To keep our bodies safe instead
Think hard about what one must do
To save ourselves and make it through.
For who can know where we have been
Or who will guess what we have seen
We’ll fight to keep our homeland safe
Believe, oh ye of little faith !
Our Lord now bides in heaven but stays close to our side
In keeping so near by us, He finds us when we hide
To hope that we might touch Him, what a joy that would be
But it can’t ever happen that’s not allowed you see
And so we are content just to know that He is there
Sure it is He loves us all and hears our smallest prayer !
As skies of gray go drifting by
Seagulls o’erhead do swiftly fly
I hear the whisper of the wind
It cries to me “please let me in”.
The sound grows stronger on my ear
I do not dare for more to hear,
Be gone corruptor of my fate
For sure it is you are too late !
Oh help me Lord, show me the way
To keep my aim on faith each day
I need to know that You are there
To save me from life’s dark despair.
Sometimes I’m lost and feeling low
Confused about where I should go
But I have hope that I can’t lose
My trust in You whate’er I chose !
Now Lot was a good kind ambitious man
The nephew of our father Abraham
He chose life in the valley of Jordan
Among the hills within the rivers run.
While there midst all those noxious Sodomites
Lot made his choice to live his days and nights
God sent His angels with a message and
Bade him escape the evil of that land.
Lot’s wife, poor thing, would oh so foolish be
Turning, for the last she would ever see,
The lesson is the Lord does speak to all
Please listen close to hear His final call !
There is a core buried deep inside
A place for our tears, our fears to hide
This lonely spot hidden fast away
And older grows with each passing day
We need to learn how to break the spell
To face the world while the story tell
But who are we, who can change our fate
With God’s constant care, pray we’re not late !
I wish I were a tiny child who fell asleep each night
With thoughts of angels all about who keep us in their sight
They comfort us with melodies or words that are so sweet
And show us how to accept our success or our defeat.
You’ll see our fears would disappear we’d be so ever calm
As all this love the angels share works like a magic charm
I know some find it hard to trust that angels keep us safe
Believe that God is on your side, oh ye of little faith !
The hours fly like autumn leaves
Both sere and withered in the breeze
The days are lost, they’ve disappeared
Like storm toss’d trees all stripped and sheared.
Our yesterdays are hard to find
Our joys and pains are intertwined.
Confusion teases what we’ve known
With memories long deeply flown.
Our fleeting thoughts do come and go
We queue to wait for God’s next show !
I miss you Mom it’s been so long
All through the years our bond was strong
Though you’ve been gone for quite a while
I still remember your sweet smile
And all the love you gave to me
When times were dark your torch was free.
Thanks for your help in those bleak days
Together while those boys were raised
You always shared that wise advice
You taught me how to compromise
I’m glad that I was there for you
Now you are gone, what shall I do ?
I’ve wandered lost through life’s long corridors
Without one question or list of what-fors
Because my heart’s been laden with a trust
That I must perform the deeds I deem just.
It seems I have not found the circumstance
To change my ways or make a second glance
I heard the angels whisper in my ear
Follow your heart it’s no mistake my dear !
It is my wish to walk with God
And tred the path wherein He trod
I sacrificed all that I know
That I may follow where He’ll go.
I shadow Him because I must
Or I shall only turn to dust,
First man was formed of simple clay
God breathed in him His holy way
I will succeed I know I can
How wonderful He’s God not man !
Our Lord has made His presence known
With every breeze the wind has blown
He is the air which we all breathe
And every tear or sigh we heave.
Be not afraid there in the dark
Though night may seem still, chill and stark
Be glad that you are not alone
Upon the cliff or rock and stone.
God wills each tree to stand or fall
He is the master of them all
Rest easy as your time draws near
God shares with all His love not fear !
There is this dream I’ve had before
Of some place where there is no war
Where men may thrive and bide content
Beneath God’s giant moonlit tent,
A world in which His word is law
Where no one questions or keeps score,
A place where peace and love abide
And all our needs, the Lord provide !
A tiny craft upon the sea
To challenge private destiny
That faces forward to the sun
Before the close of day is done,
The will to live with honesty
Ambition and alacrity !
EXCUSE ME but have you been searching for the rainbow ? Did you know that Methuselah of Genesis fame lived 969 years and was the grandfather of Noah, known for his construction of the Ark ? Wow, a mouthful ! God introduced the rainbow as a reminder to all that He would honor His vow to never again flood the world in perpetuity ! I learned that when I was but a small girl and since then each rainbow I have seen reinforces my belief. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our leaders could instill in us that kind of trust ? Oh how I wish ! Remember Daniel 2 and his feet of clay, well welcome to reality ! Clay just reminds me of a lot of mud ! How about you ?
As I gaze on assorted flower faces
I’m transported to God’s exotic places
For a world that is crammed with a million dreams
There’s nothing as simple as all truly seems.
While each tiny bud has a life of its own
And breeds healthy seed from genetics unknown,
Can you imagine in a long ago place
Once bloomed some flowers with a daisylike face ?
Or high trellised upon a very tall tree
There clambered up a type of shining ivy
What a happy conclusion and nice surprise
As loving sunflowers did greet each sunrise.
Now I’m sure as I pass through God’s golden gate
There’s lots more to come and I’d hate to be late !
Sometimes my heart seems to skip a beat
My throat goes tight, unsteady my feet
Searching for reasons what shall I find
Do deeds from the past enthrall my mind ?
Did I waste my time with selfish fun
Do I feel guilt for whatever’s been done,
Is there a rule I’ve refused to heed
Have I failed to help someone in need ?
Perhaps tis now time to readjust
Try to keep smiling, learn how to trust
Think happy thoughts, get on with God’s tasks
Be ready to help when e’er He asks !
Now once upon a time ago
Before the world began to grow
Into the place it has become
With all at war and peace for none,
Are you a global warming buff
Or is your faith in God enough ?
How would you wish for it to be
That all might have immunity
Or better still that you and me
Could till the soil or fish the sea,
This simple life would satisfy
But I’m afraid wars will not die !
Sometimes I think I hear the angels sing
Quite like the sound of gentle whispering
I’ve never heard the flutter of their wings
Though it might add to our imaginings !
I do not think I’ll ever get to see
Those angel faces watching over me
There in the shadow of our ecstasy
Where they are veiled in anonimity.
I am prepared to trust they are all here,
God’s helpful watchdogs with their mission clear
To seek and find as each last path appears
The journey follows without mortal fears !
I never cease to be amazed
By all the heroes we have raised
Both men and women young and old
The weak, the strong, the meek, the bold.
They come in every color known
And range from small to overgrown
What makes a hero who can say
But they were there to save the day.
They risked their lives to do a deed
To help another in dire need
God loves us all, good, bad or worst
Let’s hope our heroes will rank first !
