Of all the joy which I have found
That laughs and weeps and will abound
And as emotions that astound
Too often seem to be compound
The love of God which is unbound
Fills all my days with peace surround !
Of all the joy which I have found
That laughs and weeps and will abound
And as emotions that astound
Too often seem to be compound
The love of God which is unbound
Fills all my days with peace surround !
There is a tale I wish to share
Bout teenaged feelings, love and care
There was a girl of but fifteen
He was a boy of just eighteen
Each Sunday sharing the church pew
Who can decide what each one knew ?
What was it they were thinking of
Because quite soon it looked like love
Though young and silly girls may be
Assured were both she cared for he
He was a lad, handsome and tall
In every way, he seemed her all.
On Sunday morn, dad passed the plate
She taught a class, they walked home late
Along the Boulevard they’d chat
They walked and talked of this and that
Soon the young man was her best friend
Perhaps with each their lives they’d spend.
Now at this time the world was sick
Young men fought wars in battles thick
That was the year her daddy died
When she felt so alone inside
So many issues war creates
Among those most when faith abates.
How could they know before that day
The war would filch their love away
Of all events that I have seen
And all the places I have been
Too precious now those days bygone
That their first love was based upon.
So sad the pain that war does bring
As all their dreams took flight and wing
Thus never to return that way
Not then or any other day
Too bad this story has no end
No memory nor any friend !
When I was young, my world brand new
There were so many things to do
So much to learn with time to share
With excess and enough to spare
Well, things have changed, it’s not the same
The world we knew now plays a game
I get discouraged, don’t you too
Have you decided what to do ?
It seems as though we have no choice
Until we learn to grow a voice !
AMEN.
Oh robin red, in your best suit
You loudly sing and look so cute
I wish I knew how to convey
The joy I’ve felt with you today.
You bring me hope the gloom can’t hide
The warmth I feel for you inside
Your perky song and boldened ways
Bring happiness to all my days !
The wind is in the willow,
………..A chill is in the breeze
The babes are in the nest and
…………Rest safely as you please !
Help me, oh Lord, to find the way
Back home to You at end of day
Give me the strength to carry on
When all my energy seems gone
Show me the path that leads to peace
Where all my pain at last will cease !
Dear Lord, I’m glad that you are there
To hear my ever constant prayer
My mother told me long ago
That when I asked, take care to know
Because You answer each request
With what You deem to be the best
The answer will be “yes” or “no”,
“Wait for a little while or so”
“Or give us something else instead”
That covers everything she said !
AMEN !
From my front window I can see
The most exciting industry
All of God’s creatures hard at work
With not a single one who’ll shirk
How marvelous that it must be
Assured our God provides for thee.
Tis true that neither you nor I
Have the ability to fly
But we are charged by destiny
To help His creatures remain free
This has been so since ages past
Let’s help the system work to last !
Each day I rise with great surprise
To find the world before my eyes
I thank the Lord that I’m alive
And query how I still survive !
I’ve lived this life a long, long time
Indeed it’s been a tedious climb
At times I’ve thought I can’t go on
But rules are what life’s based upon !
Forgive me Lord for doubting You
What e’er You’ve taught, it is all true
I’ll carry on, I promise this
And know that life is not all bliss !
The dawn’s slow rolling o’er the hill
The air is tense, silent and still
This scene is quiet, fast asleep
While we’ve this mission we need keep
The world about is tossed amiss
And chaos rules instead of bliss
When will this peace we’re searching for
Arrive at last at our front door ?
Oh what a joy if I could be
Freed from my disability
To stand and walk upon my own
A dream to me till now unknown
How long, dear Lord, shall I exist
Amidst this pain that does persist ?
I grow so tired of being strong
And for some peace I ever long
I am content and know my place
Expecting soon one last embrace
Forgive me Lord, tis true You’ll see
What e’er will be, it’s fine with me !
This is my home, my place of birth
The dearest spot to me on earth
Because it’s where my life did start,
I learned to love and use my heart.
For every moment of each day
When I was taught to speak and pray
This is the place I shall recall
That still remains the best of all.
A gentle touch, a tender hug
A handshake or a kindly tug
Are ways we show how much we care
And promise always to be there !
The world’s comprised of many types of folks
Both young and old, lass and lads, dames and blokes
Perhaps a total of eight billion strong
Inhabit earth wherein we all belong
May the Lord have mercy upon us all
Helping each to find peace before we fall !
Oh would that I could see my way
To finer times or better day
Recapturing moments escaped
And memories that we’ve forsaked
Or that one might look forward to
Remembering how dreams come true
For joy’s composed of little things
That make us smile and lends us wings !
I see the flag, it flies on high
Its standards reaching for the sky
The wind whips round its colors bright
Tis true it is an awesome sight.
There is a chill runs down my spine
Convincing me that we’ll be fine
Quite sure each time I fall asleep
I have these promises to keep.
And if I die before I wake
There is a vow you must not break
Command my ashes to be spread
Along the shore aft I am dead !
Red, fuscia, purple, lime and green
These are the colors to be seen
With yellow, orange, pink, white, blue
To celebrate the springlike view,
Around the corners, every shade
And tint of green the Lord has made.
A myriad of colors bright
To lighten up each local sight
How did the Lord know long before
The beauty of His world decor ?
We thank You, Lord, for this Your gift
You sure know how to spirits lift !
The day our Lord hung on the cross
Was when man knew his greatest loss
To us He was sincere and fit
King of us all of whom was writ
A man of faith and kindness too
Who came to save both me and you.
His suffering was hard to take
His mother vigiled at the stake
Imagine all the pain she knew
He was her child she loved Him too
Now there is nothing left to say
Except to love You more each day !
Another day, I miss you so
You left me here long time ago
You closed your eyes and went to sleep
And that’s the memory I keep.
I held your hand, was but we two
Too long a time I’m split from you
I need your love and always will
Remember this, I love you still !
I sometimes think we’re here too long
And never know where we belong
We spend a lifetime here and there
In laughter, joy or in despair.
Mongst all the feelings that we’ve had
Perhaps we’ll settle for the glad
Some kindly thought or gentle word
Yet nothing sounding too absurd.
The world is full of magic still
If we accept God and His will
Learn to appreciate the gift
And to the Lord our praises lift !
AMEN.
I hear the train move on the track
I think it says ” click-clack, click-clack “,
And wings upon the breeze to here
Appearing to be ever near.
Our journey soon will reach its end
Without our luggage or dear friend
We’ve bid goodbye as trav’lers do,
Goodbye, so long and toodle-oo !
Oh Lamb of God, we’ve come so far
Since that first sight of Eastern star
That signalled Your impending birth
To all the creatures on this earth.
Time now to celebrate the day
Of resurrection on the way !
Tis now the time of Easter morn
When hope of man will be reborn
It was the day of Christ, you know
About two thousand years ago.
An honest man of word and deed
Who came to save our world in need
This son of God who suffered so
Did save us from all hell below.
And so today we honor Him
Who died to save us from our sin
Remembering His agony
Because He died to set us free !
The Ides of March have come and gone
And gave us nought to wish upon
We are defeated and undone
With no place left for us to run.
How shall we make our way today
When there’s no place to hide away
Surrender is the one true path
To offer God all that we hath !
The night is cool, the air is sweet
God’s vernal world lies at our feet
Each dried up twig now sports new leaf
The winter’s gone to our relief
Our barren coast revives once more
With summer dreams in full encore.
How glad am I to feel awake
And comprehend just what’s at stake
This life we have is all we need
Let’s thank the Lord and pay Him heed
As He’s the answer to all prayer
Oh blessed Lord, be always there !
There was a dream that I once had
Which made my memories so glad
Long time ago when I was young
And all my hopes were yet unsung
The energy still kept its charm
And laughter held no great alarm.
Tis time for freedom and for joy
When all life’s pleasures are employed
Oh, would that God was always there
To hear our ever grateful prayer
And see us through until the end
He is our true and constant friend !
It seems our nation’s drowning fast
The world at large appears aghast
Oh, tell us please what can we do
To save ourselves and cleave to You ?
Our time is slipping past too soon
The path ahead leads but to ruin
Let’s say a prayer that this won’t be
Another page in history !
There’s not a day that passes by
When each one’s dream may bid goodbye
There’s not a night without a star
Reminding us how near or far
The journey of our lives will be
In terms of our expectancy.
For we are here a short time all
Without control o’er win or fall
It is the Master of our fate
Who knows our exit and its date !
Tis strange there is no rest at all
For those who stumble or who fall
Or those who’ve willed their lifetime call
To carry someone else’s ball !
