With each new day a bright sunrise
From dawn to dusk this huge surprise
The world about so full and lush
O’ershadowed by the nighttimes hush
Let’s all embrace the calm we find
God help us now from stress unwind !
With each new day a bright sunrise

When I was young and very green
There was not much that I had seen
But now I’ve had my fill of war
I still don’t know what war is for !
There’s World War Two, Korea and
That long Cold War, plus Vietnam
Do you remember Lebanon
In eighty-two that fatal bomb ?
Next came Grenada, Panama
This all before the first Gulf War
With Kuwait, Iraq then after
Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia.
From Kosovo, Afghanistan
That’s how War Two Iraq began
I cannot tell how we got here
The world is small, so full of fear,
But I”ll keep praying, hoping that
Our round world won’t wind up flat !
I feel the wind brush cross my cheeks
Midst all the sounds that nature speaks
At last the springtime has arrived
My world around does come alive.
As sunrays skip about the place
They fill the void in every space
The breeze is gentle, kind and swift
I sense my spirits rise and lift,
Oh what a day that we may share
And how I wish you would be there !
The morning sun begins to shine
O’er sloping roofs with steep incline
As seagulls flown out to the sea
Do swoop and pluck their breakfast free.
An early breeze bears frosted breath
The remnants of past winter’s death
How grand it is expecting spring
To feel so good with God’s blessing !
Oh little lamb you are so sweet
With wooly coat and nimble feet
You make me smile, oh cuddly beast
Among God’s creatures, not the least.
I’d heard that Mary was a fan
Together you two played and ran
Though I have never had the time
I can remember childhood’s rhyme.
Maybe one day both you and I
Will meet our Lord in passing by,
He has been called the Lamb of God
Perhaps we’ll bide in His backyard !
To all God’s children far and wide
I’ve known the fear that looms inside
Tis difficult, the younger years
That harbor pain, defeat or tears.
Sometimes it seems a miracle
If you should ever make it through
Remember always keep your stride
And live with dignity and pride.
Be kind to those whom you pass by
Give none cause to be hurt or cry
Try your best, pray, you will be heard
So praise the Lord and keep His word !
We need to thank our Lord above
For sharing His eternal love
We cannot say what we should do
If God on high doth bid adieu.
This world we know would disappear
And all we love might pale in fear
Oh dearest Lord forsake us not
Without Your care we are forgot !
A child am I, quite innocent
My feelings clear, my heart content
One thing I’ve learned within my mind
Towards love and peace I am inclined.
I’ve seen the damage hate can do
I fear for those with anger too
The ways of God, simple and kind
Are all I ask and wish to find !
Long have I thought, to be quite clear
This world I’ve loved and held so dear
Should harbor you forever now
But will that be alright somehow ?
As Satan’s angels and their crew
Do all their devil work pursue
Seem to have won this dirty war
Destroying all worth living for.
I pray for those I’ve left behind
That peace one day is what they’ll find
Our God does not forsake us all
But heeds each plea if we just call!
It’t early morn, the wind’s a thief
And carries danger not relief
The dampness cuts right to the bone
There is no cure or safety zone.
Tis best if we prepare ahead
To keep our bodies safe instead
Think hard about what one must do
To save ourselves and make it through.
For who can know where we have been
Or who will guess what we have seen
We’ll fight to keep our homeland safe
Believe, oh ye of little faith !
The time is here, the time is now
We knew that it might come somehow
Last night deep frost did show its face
Now most new green has been erased.
I see the limbs of all the trees
Succumbing to the crippling freeze
That yesterday were chock full of
The thrill of spring and signs of love.
The blossoms filled each branch and twig
At times enhanced by petal’d wig
What shall be left when frost has gone
And damaged growth must carry on ?
If I could fly on fairy wings
Or sing the songs an angel sings,
If I could launch into the sky
Or float on clouds as they pass by,
If I could reach to touch a star
Or snatch its glitter from afar,
Then I could speak into the crowd
To tell them all God has avowed
He will not fail us, not at all
He is with us win, lose or fall !
I watch the wind come out to play
It happens each and every day
I hear the rain come pelting down
The rooftops echo with the sound.
I see the gulls fly overhead
While other birds had all but fled
Their wasted nests hid in the trees
The remnants of last winter’s freeze.
Oh spring you are not far behind
I simply cannot wait to find
Rebirth in every sort of way
As nature does her role replay.
What precious joy each day doth bring
Our God has thought of everything !
A simple thought occured to me
Our lives are pools of blasphemy
Despite our faith, tis truth we’ll find
That liberty’s on fast rewind
But who is there to make the case
And help us all regain God’s grace ?
The taste of joy is oh so sweet
So like our lives it’s ever fleet
It scampers by and will not last
And if we blink its time flies past.
There is no way we can explain
It comes and goes like summer rain
Now we must wait until that day
When joy and sun come out to stay !
I thank you Lord for all you’ve done
Not just for me but everyone
I’m grateful for Your help and care
And glad that You are always there.
I know You are the keeper of
My heart and mind from up above,
That all I have You’ve given me
And all I am belongs to Thee
I’d like to take the time to say
I wish you all a joyous day
With peace and happiness to share
And lots of extra love to spare !
This road I’ve walked for oh so long
Has taught me much and made me strong
I have not flinched in spite of pain
Finding more ways to help maintain
Those days that challenge me anew
Questioning now what shall I do ?
I’ve come this far with faith in God
His help has made my path less hard
No matter what new days may bring
I thank my God for everything !
The sun invades the early light of morn
As each day doth pass from the dusk to dawn
The birds do exit from their hidden cleft
To search for morsels that each night has left.
While men must all learn how to face the dark
When times turn bleak and moments seem so stark
Take care that hope is not forever lost
Hold on to faith no matter what the cost !
Oh dearest Lord what were you like
When you were but a tiny tyke
And when you played outside your home
Did you get lost or perchance roam ?
What kind of games did you partake,
There were no windows you could break
I’m sure that you were full of vim
What troubles did you make for Him ?
How much your Father loved us all
To sacrifice what would befall
His only Son conceived for men
To dwell in paradise again !
Our Lord now bides in heaven but stays close to our side
In keeping so near by us, He finds us when we hide
To hope that we might touch Him, what a joy that would be
But it can’t ever happen that’s not allowed you see
And so we are content just to know that He is there
Sure it is He loves us all and hears our smallest prayer !
I see the flag that flies o’erhead
Red, white and blue as truth be said
This banner that forever waves
Our dignity and honor saves.
How proudly should we all observe
Respect for truth while valor serve
I’m glad to do all that I can
Because I am American !
The time has come to speak of things
Like love and hope and friendship rings
I’ve never had a friendship ring
But yet my life with joy does sing.
My hand still unadorned must be
To show the world that I am free
There’s but one love that is for me
My heart has pledged to walk with Thee !
I know that there are those who deny
That we have a God who bides on high
There is no way to solve this debate
At least for the moment soon or late.
Although their doubt still ever persists
I would rather trust that He exists
And shall settle for this simple fact
I believe with my whole heart intact !
Along life’s way I hope and pray
That God is there both night and day
And that He hears our silent prayer
To stay close by no matter where.
I’m sure that He has much to do
And millions with a wish list too
I do not want to jump the line
The chances are that I’ll be fine.
But it would be quite nice to think
That when one trembles on the brink
The Lord is there to break the fall
Because He loves us warts and all !
There is a line one must not cross
To do so would compel a loss
Both pro and con may fight the war
From outside in right to the core.
Take care you’ll find one does not win
When truth is based upon a sin
The Lord has eyes based everywhere
To judgements make both just and fair !
I wish I had a magic cape
That I could use for my escape
From this old world that’s full of tears
And struggles greatly with its fears !
I’d rise above the clouds so high
And sail the currents in the sky
Perhaps I’d fly to Neverland
Now wouldn’t that be fine and grand ?
What shall be there, what will I see,
God’s Promised Land, eternity !
I hear the wind move through the trees
There sounds a voice that speaks with ease
I sense my name, I halt and heed
For I’m a child of God indeed.
The world about doth now resound
And trembles with a fear profound
The earth it rumbles neath my feet
Anon God’s plan will be complete
Warning to all, the heavens vow
His time to come twill soon be now !
