Come see our flag, it flies so high
A living legend in the sky
Declaring with its strength and might
It is the symbol of our right.
Thanks for this gift from God above
We pledge you our enduring love
And try the best that we all can
To serve our God and fellow man !
There was a dream that I once knew
When you loved me and I loved you
So long ago in years gone by
Before we had to say goodbye.
I stood there all alone that day
The day that God took you away
Somehow I didn’t comprehend
Was this the way our lives would end ?
Now here am I still standing tall
Awaiting God’s last curtain call
Stay with me Lord, I need Your strength
To get me through this final length !
Through all these years and all the wars
That caused such grief and gave us pause
Too many centuries have passed
Each one’s been sadder than the last
Help us to find a safer shore
Perhaps to even up the score
Oh Lord above, look down on we
Your children seeking sanctity !
Oh how I wish the world could be
A place that’s bathed in sympathy
Imagine how much joy we’d see
If all were cloaked in pleasantry ?
A special bit of heaven came knocking on my door
And sounded so familiar, I’m sure we’d met before
Oh my dearest child, you are a wonderment to me
Please come visit me again whenever you are free
I pray that you will share all the laughter and the joy
That God does offer gladly to every girl and boy !
The storm, it thunders all around
With ne’er a silence to be found
The light’ning crashes in the dark
Illuminating all in spark
Its odor makes the air smell sweet
As rivers flood through every street
I wonder if old Noah feared
The wrath of God when it appeared,
Those moments when the clouds did burst
Do you believe that he felt cursed
Or was his faith in God so strong
He held no fear his whole life long ?
Oh my dearest angel wherever you may be
My arms still long to hold you ever close to me
The years may come and go and never shall we meet
Until the final day, perhaps on heaven’s street
And if that day can’t happen, I shall understand
That all I have prayed for falls under God’s command !

The rain it tumbles to the ground
There’s not a dry spot to be found
The wind it whips among the trees
Embracing all the sodden leaves
The morning’s light turns into dark
The air about is still and stark
While clouds do pass and fade away
In their circuitous display,
The seasons change from day to night
Without a single goal in sight
How simple all our lives could be
Accepting God’s equality !
My heart is full, it overflows
Clear from my fingers to my toes
Devoid of malice, free of fear
Anticipating one more year.
I think of Noah and his clan
For this is how our lives began
His holy cause for one and all
Because he answered his God’s call.
I sometimes think we’ve lost our way
With Satan’s help from angels stray
Truth is that I cannot be sure
Who does embrace all these impure !
I know You Lord, You speak to me
With every measure I can see
There from the treetops in the air
From rooftops, birds now perching there,
On every branch in every tree
Each bird sings his own song to me.
How beautiful this life does seem
With all God’s creatures in each scene !
I love You Lord, please take my hand
And lead me to the Promised Land
Show me the path to Latter Days
That I may follow in Your ways
Each child that listens soon will hear
God’s loving Message on his ear
Trust in the Lord, He will not fail
The world is His, each hill and vale
Like every thing the eye can see
Is made by Him for you and me !

A garden is that special place
Where hope and fear meet face to face
Where dreams are made or fall apart
And courage wins when tears depart.
An island in a lifelong storm
Where each must to their strength perform
A place of peace where God resides
And answers prayers and love provides !
Oh little birds you crowd my door
What is it you are waiting for
A bit of bread or cracker crumbs
That from my kitchen table comes
Leftovers from a berry tart
I meant for you right from the start ?
I want to share my feast with you
The way most thoughtful persons do
The Lord above has taught us this
Some joys in life we must not miss.
Perhaps one day when I am old
And all my senses have grown cold
You’ll sing to me your old time song
Reminding me that I belonged !

Each time that I sit down to eat
I notice there’s an unfilled seat
It’s been like that for quite awhile
I don’t feel ready yet to smile.
I wish your laugh and wisdom’s word
Were still the pleasantries I’d heard
For times have changed, you’re gone away
I miss you more, day after day !
Who’d ever guess that I should be
Alone at last upon life’s sea,
I never thought that I would share
My dinners with an empty chair !
The sun comes peeping o’er the hill
The day is white and bright and still
Each morn brings us another day
Another chance to thank and pray.
How wonderful God’s plan has been
Allowing all to scurry in
We don’t need any special gift
To help us smile or spirits lift
He’s always there with open door
How can we ask for any more ?
Oh little lamb you are so sweet
God loves to smell your roasting meat
He’s rather fond of incense too
With scents of flowers red, pink, white, blue
And all the candles that we light
To chase the darkness of the night.
How simple it can be to show
The proper path that we must go !
Oh how I wish that we may speak
If I were strong and not so weak
And had a chance to beg the Lord
That we might be of one accord
Thus sleep with God and bird, may I
Perhaps one day grow wings and fly ?
We love You Lord, and beg of You
Give each the strength to see life through,
This dearth of help that now may be
The darkest night we’ll ever see,
Or longest day we’ll ever know
As in our lives will sadness grow.
Because of You, we’ve traveled far
To reach the Comfort that You are !

This day to me is just so real
I can’t explain quite how I feel
My heart so full I think t’will break
There was so very much at stake.
Ten thousand lost upon that shore
Who t’were not seen forevermore
My heart cries out, I cannot bear
The deprivation we did share.
How many dreams were lost that day
How many hopes were snatched away
Oh God above, please hear this plea
Vouchsafe this day of infamy !
The silence of the night has ceased
The sun has risen in the east
The darkness is absorbed by light
Soon all turns colorful and bright.
Some other actor’s on the stage
With one more play that’s all the rage
Another factor springs to life
To shatter calm, encourage strife.
This world we knew has gone astray
As evil seems to rule the day
Lord hear our plea, we beg of Thee
Please save us and help set us free !
For all the dreams that we have dreamt
And all the wishes we have sent
With all the hope that we can raise
And all the prayers full of great praise
May God above hear our just plea
And include us in His mercy !
Across the fields of No Man’s Land
The poet guides his magic hand
Describing all the feelings clear
Of incidents both far and near.
This is the place where freedom rings
While opportunity still sings,
Where each and everyone of all
Have heard the sound of caution’s call.
No matter what the future’s cost
Or if some dreams by chance get lost
We are the champions of all
And stand together or we fall !
Come dance with me, the moon is bright
Stars are alive, a wond’rous sight
The creatures in the meadows sleep
Filled with the sounds of nature deep
The world is ours for ages past
Let’s pray to God that it will last !

Sometimes love happens fast
And takes our breath aghast
Tis odd we should depend
On love to help one mend
For it is each who’ll chance
To gamble on romance.
How shall we make it clear
We hold this value dear
And live on borrowed time
With life wrapt up in rhyme !
My dearest friend, I miss you so
The depth far deeper than you know
The “used to be”, that is, once was
My heart was thrilled, my days abuzz.
I still recall with no regret
Too many hours we shan’t forget
The little which we understand
Of all that lies in our command
Our tender days that ought to be,
Got lost within diversity !

I treasure days just like today
To savor and to store away
Full of the warmth one dreams about
No fantasies chock full of doubt.
But life is never quite so clear
We cannot know when danger’s near
Or when we shall run out of time
And find ourselves deaf, dumb or blind.
The answer is to pull up tight
Tack on a smile, begin to fight
For planning is the proper way
To save each dream, from day to day !
I often think the Lord is there
In every garden that we share
With odors that o’ercome the air
And seize upon our senses rare.
A garden is this magic place
In which God lends to us the grace
That brings a smile to each one’s face
Engulfing us in His embrace.
I wish that I could always be
Involved with such an entity
Like plant or flower, vine and tree
Within our Lord’s proximity !
The tender night reveals our fears
The falling rain does hide our tears
The silent breeze will calm our fright
While love of God safeguards each night !
