Whatever was it they were thinking of
Now how could it be that this mixed up pair
Decided they desired one life to share
In this crazy world how can all this be
The fulfillment of their true destiny ?

Seems like old age is sneaking up on me
Urging to make way for reality
And join the varied seasons passing by
As all the fragments of each year do fly.
With all my heart I wish that I could see
The times I loved that were our used to be
Too soon old memories we’ve kept must die
While most need learn how does one bid goodbye !
I wish I were a birthday cake on this special day
So I could say how glad I am You have passed my way
It seems awhile since You and I have been such good friends
I’m praying this continues and perhaps never ends !
There is a joy that springs anew
Each day the holidays are due
And now that Christmastime is here
It is the best of all this year.
I love remembering the sound
Of blessed music all around
With songs and voices ringing out
And children singing hymns devout.
The love of God and all our kin
Are blessings we can revel in
May all the years that lay ahead
Have sugar plums dance in our head !
My heartfelt thoughts are sped your way
To each of you alone today
I send you kindness with much love
And prayers for you to God above
Keep safe and grateful, don’t forget
The best of all is coming yet !

My every dream, my every fear
Tis sad that life is far too short
For all the wishes we have sought.
But as for me and all my kin
The doors are open please come in
We’ll pray with joy and beg You stay
Within our hearts day after day !
To all my friends and those I love
I don’t know what we’re thinking of
But I am guessing holidays
With thanks to God whom we all praise
For all the joys the season brings
And all the songs the angels sing !
It takes a lot to be prepared
For tragedies our lives may share
As life at best is difficult
Depending on each small result.
Sometimes the luck is on our side
And we complete each task with pride
Though there are days of no avail
When good intents are bound to fail
Let’s hope the latter are less few
We’ve greater goals left to pursue !
Well here we are, believing what
With all this detail we have got ?
There are too many who will say
There is no God, not here today.
I can’t recall who said it first
But I am sure their bubble’s burst.
Just look around what do you see
A world that needs God’s charity !
The wind, it whips around the bend
How long before the winter’s end
The snow, the sleet, the icy road
That soon becomes a heavy load
But when the elements do flee
The spring arrives to comfort me.
I’d like to greet another day
With fragrant blossoms on the way
There is a line I can’t ignore
I’ve heard so many times before
If winter comes, it’s true you’ll find
That spring is never far behind !
The simplest pleasures that I will miss
Are an unexpected sticky kiss,
Tiny fingers pulling at my hair
And peek-a-boos meant for two to share.
There is so much joy small children bring
Into each day of just plain living
Their hopes and fears or their smiles and tears
Gifting our lives with surprise and cheers !
There is a song lives in my heart
I don’t know how it got its start
But I adore its every word
The sweetest sounds I’ve ever heard.
It fills my mind and brings me peace
And from life’s sadness grants release
It raises hopes where none survived
And helps laughter to be revived.
How wonderful the Lord loves all
Who stand in line to wait His call
He is the Master and the King
Son of the God of everything !
We are the home of heroes, every color, every size
But who are those now making this effort to minimize ?
It’s been our own courageous patriots who’ve built this land
A place where citizens can work together hand in hand
This homeland where the people have the freedom and the choice
To fly the flag, sing the song, say the pledge or raise their voice !
How I hate war, oh Lord, how I hate war
What is the point, what’s it intended for
Where is the end, tell me what shall we do
How can we comprehend life’s carry through ?
I see those faces that once were unlined
But now to agony are thus confined
I hear the rasping sound of raling breath
The gasping halt that’s prone to preface death
Be gone this hate, the anger too, I say
Please Lord we beg of You show us the way !
It does seem odd that you and I
Are simply strangers passing by
We’ve spent our days upon God’s earth
Testing our values and their worth.
We’ve come this far to validate
The things we love and some we hate
Our time is brief and waning fast
Tis now each move may be our last.
Oh Lord we’re grateful that You’ve heard
And need the courage of Your word !
Live each day as if it were your last
Reminisce about those lifetimes past
And feel the warmth of love’s gentle kiss
Do not complain of the things you’ve missed.
Wish to all their impossible dream
Of unending love and joy supreme
Have trust in God follow in His way
Keep faith in your heart day after day !
The world today is lacking trust
We take our joys where e’er we must
The hours all seem to melt away
As do the weeks and everyday.
Time flies with wings so swift and fleet
As strangers stroll by on each street
With neither nod nor passing word
No single thought there to be heard.
This lonesome place within the mind
Where memories we’ve left behind
Too late do seek that compromise
Where all one’s dreams are realized !
Observe the sky, today it’s gray
And changes colors day by day
But now is winter time and so
We can’t be sure what hues will show.
The golden glows of summertime
Do verge upon a scene sublime
I most prefer the plums and pinks
Especially as sundown sinks.
I wonder if the Lord can see
How glorious His sky must be
To all of us who looking up
Adore His overflowing cup ?
The world is full of lonliness
With dark amidst the emptiness
The only light that still exists
Is that in which God’s love persists !
This world’s full of magic, I feel it every day
Truth, I wouldn’t change it for any other way
Along with all its beauty, courage and elan
Like the great white egret that wades amongst the swan.
Seems to me the angels are watching all the fun
Sharing laughs in heaven with almost everyone !
There is this thought I entertain
From winter snow to springtime rain
The summer’s warmth, the leaves of fall
Sweet memories we all recall
They fill my heart, my brain implodes
With pleasures set to soon explode.
Oh how I wish that all could see
Our strength in great diversity
The young and old, the halt and lame
The large or small, we are the same !
I relish the thought that God loves me
And ponder o’er this quite carefully
I’ve come to the conclusion that He
Is the boss of all eternity !
I do love happy endings, yes I truly do
That is when our dreams really could be coming true
It is the time for joy and happiness replete
The stars begin to shine and all the world seems sweet
I like to work with others, help them feel the same
Try to be realistic, manipulate no game.
Sometimes we cannot help if dreams do go astray
We simply need to pause to cast our fears away
For God will still be there, He knows how much we care
He feels our deepest pain when no one’s left to share
He helps us to remember what life’s all about
Seeking our happy ending ere time should run out !
This gentle thought does make its way
Into the musings of each day
What is it that our God has seen
As He looks down upon earth’s scene
Can it be that our numbers grow
Who wait on Him to start His show ?
There is this place so faraway
Where angels and God’s cherubs play
It’s full of dreams and atmosphere
And lots of love and laughs and cheer
A perfect spot we cannot share
Until our Lord invites us there !
I’ve grown through all these many years or so
It seems there’s really no place left to go
There’s no way yet to thrive in outer space
In truth it’s not a safe or happy place.
I’d rather be stuck in a cardboard box
Or forced to walk without both shoes and sox
Than sacrifice the pleasures that I’ve known
Among my family and friends at home.
At this stage of life I find I’m confined
By the strings of our love and joy combined
I believe that I’ll simply hang around
Until God’s solution at last is found !
It’s time for all to stop and think
Our world’s been trembling on the brink
The last thing that we need right now
Is someone else’s sacred cow
Another reason to resist
Or confrontation to exist.
We’re not so very far removed
From where our lives were unimproved
The horse and buggy were our ride
While sanitation was outside
And I’m not sure I can be pressed
To choose which era I like best !
There was a child born long ago
It is a story we all know
A sky bathed in celestial light
With one star burning ever bright.
That tiny babe lay mongst the sheep
With angels guarding Him asleep
The heavens knew and marked that place
With holiness time can’t erase.
That baby boy would grow to be
The saviour of humanity
A whole world knows His blessed name
There’s been none else of greater fame !
