Of all the joy which I have found
That laughs and weeps and will abound
And as emotions that astound
Too often seem to be compound
The love of God which is unbound
Fills all my days with peace surround !
Of all the joy which I have found
That laughs and weeps and will abound
And as emotions that astound
Too often seem to be compound
The love of God which is unbound
Fills all my days with peace surround !
The sun has risen o’er the eaves
As shards of light do patterns weave
And all the limbs and branches seen
Cast shadows on each window screen.
Oh let the joy of morning sun
Enter each window one by one
To spread the light and share the heat
That sunshine brings when e’er we meet !
The snow has covered all the ground
There’s not another soul around
Our world of white is drowning in
A swirl of ice and sleet and wind.
There is no color anywhere
Except for trees whose limbs are bare
And evergreens both small and tall
Whose silouettes display it all.
This winter beauty that we see
Will fade away eventually !
The sun it rises in the sky
Preparing to bid morn goodbye
The day progresses faster now
Soon twilight will appear somehow.
The sun does sink beyond the trees
The moon it rises with dark’s ease
The stars above sparkle and shout
Tis now the time for faith devout !
All through my life these dreams I’ve had
Some good, some sad with others glad
Like wishes I have made before
That often slipped under the door
To get so lost that all forget
This life has had no ending yet !
The time is still to come my dear
With climax that conveys no fear
Into this world I naked came
And when I leave twill be the same !
What is it that I want to say
What act of wisdom to display
What golden thought may I impart
To let you know what’s in my heart ?
For I am old, beyond most fear
My day of judgement soon draws near
The only message that I know
Is fear your God and love Him so !
Too many dreams have gone astray
Or run aground along the way
Too many hopes have disappeared
In clouds of rising silent fear
Think positive in all you do
Your endless faith will see you through !
Mocking bird, mocking bird sing me a song
Keep me amused through this afternoon long
Oh sweetest of sounds, please show me the rest
Sing me those melodies I love the best !
My heart flies high when I espy
A rainbow shimmer in the sky
Or when a robin sings his song
It helps me smile the whole day long.
I love the humming of the bees
As they meander round the eaves
I won’t desert this joy I feel
Because I’m sure that God is real !
Have you heard the bells on Christmas Day
When the old familiar carols play
Their sounds all echoing on the air
How I’ve wished that we could all be there.
Let the music and voices be raised
To our God on high singing His praise
Though those we love may be far away
Please send them our love this Christmas Day !
Oh how I wish that I might be
The brightest star upon the tree
And with the words of every hymn
Sing praises loud adoring Him
In sight of God and man today
To spread my wings and fly away !
There is a light from up above
That glows with God’s unending love
And smiles upon we here below
Who daily dream and pray and grow.
It emanates from moon and stars
From sun to sun clear out to Mars
And finally as life’s end nears
We are all forced to face our fears.
That special light moves within reach
Of principles our Lord did teach
Stretch out to grab that blessed light
And clutch it close til last goodnight !
There is a numbness I can feel
Somehow I think it can’t be real
It just won’t leave, try as I may
However long do feelings stay ?
Thank you, dear Lord for the strength and the will
To keep hope alive when the option’s nil
When the journey’s o’er and our lives are done
We’ll sing Your praise with each Angelus rung !
I look around, what do I spy
The naked limbs of barren trees
With leaves in piles about sky-high,
Leftover ice from last night’s freeze,
Snapshots of early morning find
Still crusted on the window’s ledge
A lacy pattern left behind
By remnants of the autumn sedge.
The winter has its own brigades
An army of invading knaves
Of frost and snow and ice cascades
That from the bitter cold here saves !
I hear the raindrops dancing on my roof
The pitter-patter sound they make is proof
That even passing raindrops sing-along
To note that God and man, they too belong !
I love You Lord, what e’er You do
In hope and love and world peace too
For joy and laughter, good times all
I hear the birds and heaven call.
My heart sings out, it hums a tune
Transports my spirit to the moon
I hear the wind, it speaks to me
Reminding me God’s love is free !
I hear the bells on Christmas Day
Their old famiiar carols play
And pray the Lord will understand
That soon His birthday is at hand.
It matters not what day that is
For all our days are truly His
The steeple bells ring sweet and clear
To celebrate the Christchild’s here !
I hear the whisp’ring of the shadows now
Assuring me twill come aright somehow
I could not bear to see that handsome face
Placed in a box in some secluded place
Of all the things he truly could not be
Confined to earth’s morose eternity,
So God above, who hears a mother’s plea,
Be kind to him and keep him close to Thee !
AMEN.
This child I held close to my breast
Has left me now to be at rest
His life  of pain at last set free
Upon God’s unrelenting sea.
This was his battle for too long
He tried so hard, he was so strong
But here we are, this is the end
I’ll miss you son, my life, my friend.
I doubt if we shall meet again
Another time, but where or when,
There’s none to know or even learn
Truth is, no one has e’er returned !
Whatever I am, dear Lord, I know
I owe it to You, You’ve made it so
You are the stars and the skies they’re in
With clouds above at Your every whim.
The rainbows we glimpse with color bright
A moon o’erhead on the starlit night
You are the dreams we are waiting for
The hopes and wishes and plans galore
That do fill our hearts and minds with glee
And create Your world this sight to see.
The birds and trees, the flowers that bloom
Assorted odors filling each room
The snow and rain, the wind as it blew
All of our treasures are gifts from You !
OUT OF CHAOS, ORDER. Â AMEN.
It seems that life is whizzing by
With days so fast they seem to fly
While times their passage makes us cry
That’s when we must all bid goodbye !
The pages of the calendar do fly
Like storm tossed leaves across a windy sky
Days of our lives now swiftly pass us by
Their hours, minutes all whispering goodbye !
Why should I wish that life’s a blast
When any hour could be its last
Why should I dream or try to share
When no one’s left to love or care ?
Why do I hope the time has come
When all our troubles are undone
Why am I sure we’ll all be fine
If we’d but follow God’s design ?
My heart is full, my body numb
With grief severe and overcome
No matter where I try to look
My vision blurs, I am forsook.
Seems I’ve been here few times before
Appears there’s this familiar door
And of the lessons each has found
Let’s start with feet upon the ground.
The way is long, the journey hard
The rest I find best left to God
I pray that He will hear our claim
Greet a new dawn to spur our aim !
Have you wondered what clouds must see
While floating o’erhead lazily
And what about the mountain’s heighths
With all its smells and sound delights ?
Do you believe that clouds can tell
If all below are doing well
Or when to rain or sail away
Perhaps return another day ?
God’s world is huge and ever wide
What do you think He keeps inside,
Seems it’s a deep dark mystery
A puzzle for eternity ?
It never once occured to me
When I was but a child of three
That memories of days gone by
Would crowd my head ere I should die.
Most instances are so complete
At times they knock me off my feet
Whoever dreamt that olden days
Would be the pleasure of old age ?
I thank You Lord, that You have cared
And softened all the blows we’ve shared
I pray whatever lies in store
Will grant me peace forever more !
The sun’s grown pale, the moon is red
One dare not speak, words are unsaid
See how each leaf twists in the breeze
Erase the pain Lord, if You please
There is no solace in the grave
There’s no time left, no cause to save !
