The wind that rushes through the trees
May saunter with the ocean’s breeze
And lift the waves upon the seas
Or flutter flakes before the freeze.
The wings of birds that urgent fly
Across the currents of the sky
May reach so far and aim so high
Suggesting time is rushing by.
The sand that scatters on the beach
Reminds us what is out of reach
Those lessons learned one cannot teach
Pray God will not our faith impeach.
Oh my soul, I have fear my heart will break
Oft life takes a toll or makes some mistake
There must be a path one will seek to find
To help bring some peace and a calm of mind.
In days to come one must learn how to grow
There are hopes and plans one may need to show
Like a garden unkempt choking in weeds
Needing great care and some water and seeds.
It’s a casual thought beginning now
Importance depends on our learning how
To implement life here along the way
No matter how short or long is the stay !
Whilst have I seen my heart take wings
To sail upon a draught that sings
A song of love when twilight clings
That to my soul contentment brings.
The angels sing their voices raised
To laud our God and spread His praise
While common folk like you and me
Are asked to join their ecstasy !
The joyous words with hope resound
To share the news peace will be found
And pray that we’re not left behind
When God collects His humankind !
Oh little child, what have you known
Of loss and pain that is not shown
With all the chaos that you feel
How will you sense just what is real ?
Misfortune’s child wih life amiss
What happenings will you dismiss,
What patience can your nature find
To keep you safe and warm and kind ?
It must be stark to live each day
When no one’s there to guard your way
How can you bide in this bleak space
And keep God’s peace upon your face ?
Of all the times we do recall
We laughed and hugged and had it all
The world seemed like a better place
Day started with a happy face !
Can you remember how we cried
When trouble came or someone died,
Life had a value way back when
What changed it all so quickly then ?
Has it occurred to you to find
That we are facing life’s decline
Where dreams belong to yesterday,
Hopes come and go and fade away ?
The tender thoughts that filled our mind
Those years ago have waxed unkind
And selfish seems to be the word
Describing acts both seen and heard.
What brought us to this hapless end
Where we are forced here to defend
Our love of God, our pride of land
Our self respect, our helping hand ?
Come dance with us, small lonely child
And meet our Lord who’s meek and mild.
Each morning turn your face to God
With thank you for the gentle prod
That stirs one to believe again
In miracles like sun and rain !
Just search about perhaps you’ll find
A thousand reasons to remind
Us all to sing a joyful song
For in His world we all belong.
We’ll join our hands in grateful prayer
And sing and dance because He’s there !
Each day I rise with early morn
Much pleasure waits upon the dawn
God’s beings stir and move about
They wake and stretch and boast and flout.
It’s such a noisy world out there
Too many creatures fill the air
Assuring us we’re not alone
That God is with us, age unknown.
We’re grateful for the joys we find
And thankful that we’re on His mind !
Softly, softly, along the way
How much is left for us to say,
What will happen, where will we go
Will time soon stop or grow and grow ?
How soon will this road turn and bend
Our history, where will it end ?
The cause is just, the timings right
We seek that future full of light
And justice for all humankind
With peace the aim we pray to find !

I am not lost, I’m not alone
For God has touched each rock and stone
And walks upon this earth so fair
He fills the sky, He is the air.
None but the angels know and see
Such beauty and infinity
It’s left to us to seek and find
His path in life though we are blind !
The night is long while day is fleet
Dawn births the thought that life is sweet
The quiet hours will not remain
They’re like the calm that follows rain.
The tender haze from which we wake
Is filled with hope that morn will break
Upon a sight to warm the heart
And grant our lives a new restart !
Who can describe the way to go
The route to take, the path to know
The more I try the more I find
That day by day I grow more blind.
I need the hope I will be saved
That road ahead with patience paved
And rest stops set along the way
To ease the leap of that last day !
Oh saddest day the world recalls
The sunrise fails the darkness falls
Man cannot bear the ugly pain
How long until true peace will reign ?
The time draws nigh twill reappear
Chance quite a few will yet be here,
Like Noah and his party small
They will begin life over all.
Oh what a joy that time will be
Fulfillment of the prophecy !
It seems that love won’t always stay
Oft times it drifts or fades away
To leave us lost and wishing for
A love that lasts forever more.
But such as this can never be
No ardor earns eternity
There’s only one I’ll share with you
Its force exists still strong and true.
The love of God is kind and fair
He holds us in His loving care
Demanding naught for us to learn
Except we’re faithful in return !
I had a dream I can’t recall
If it was spring or it was fall
There was no snow upon the ground
And in the air no chill was found.
Where was that place I do not know
All this occurred so long ago
The air was clear the sky was blue
Peace filled my heart its aim was true.
I’d like to reach that quiet space
Before my life outruns its race
I’m weary now nowhere to hide
I beg that God stays by my side.
There are some times I am remiss
And bid goodbye without a kiss,
Today I want to give my thanks
For birds and trees and flowered banks
For sun that greets us every day
And rain that can get in the way !
A breeze that blows and stars that shine
These gifts from God, they’re yours, they’re mine.
I won’t forget how much it means
To taste the wind and smell the greens
I’ll say farewell to bygone days
And join that path to better ways !
I wish I had a quiet space
To patch my dreams and to replace
The worn out parts of shattered hope
That need research new ways to cope.
I’d like to think that there remains
A wistful thought which still contains
The wisdom that God’s left behind
For those of us who are not blind.
The special traits that used to be
A part of our resiliency
Have faded into lost success
And only add to our distress.
The times we knew, forever gone
Like dinosaur or mastodon
Can it be true, we’ve lost our way
Is this to be our judgement day ?
TODAY I awakened with a hymn echoing in my head, ” Faith of our fathers, living still, In spite of dungeon, fire and sword; Â O how our hearts beat high with joy, Whenever we hear that glorious Word !” Â Wow, 3500 years of history crammed into one verse, and nothing has changed ! Â Is this possible ? And still the promise calls and the hymns ring out their joyous song. Â ” Faith of our fathers, holy faith ! Â We will be true to thee till death. ” Â My hispanic friends speak reverently of “los ultimos tiempos “. Â Is there no path left to create a better world ? Â I am saddened by man’s inhumanity to man, I am crushed by the anger and the ignorance of mankind. Â I am brought to my knees in supplication, will you help me in my quest ? Â I know it’s time ! Of all the gifts that God has given
And all the goals for which I’ve striven
The one I’ve chosen above the rest
That seems to me the ultimate test
Is the courage needed to be strong
To accept the guilt when I am wrong,
To love my God with all of my might
On the coldest morn or darkest night,
Follow His words wherever they lead
And volunteer when there is a need
Walk with Him whether it’s night or day
Pray for His blessings along the way !
The Ides of March have come and gone
Tis strange how phrases linger on
“I will return” impresses me
It had to do with liberty !
Words may convey the sentiment
That many heroes olden meant
And bring to us their magic power
Recalling glory’s finest hour.
But most of all I’d like to hear
Three little words upon my ear
Please take your pick, there are a few
My choice begins with “I love you” .
Love cannot last for but a day
It does not happen quite that way
For love is meant to stay and stay.
Man will be faithless by design
Too shallow and prone to malign
With sentiment and thought unkind.
While God’s love is example set
And leaves us nothing to regret
It is the most to give and get.
So I shall always pray to be
Within that circle loved and free
To worship Him who’s there for me !
A nagging chill pervades the room
One seems to sense impending gloom
Another day has come and gone
Another chance to wish upon
Some fragile hope we care about
Or dream we followed most devout.
A helpful thought to keep in mind
Remember to be just and kind
There is one way that we can choose
One path to follow win or lose
We need no special trade or school
It’s simply called the Golden Rule !
I wish I had a magic wand
That reached into the vast beyond
To make each happy dream come true
A gift of joy from me to you,
That is what friends are really for
To keep us close and even more !
And if my wand  could work in space
We might escape this human race
To gather there at God’s front door
And bide with Him forevermore !
A veil of water clouded earth
Until the time of Noah’s birth
God’s anger rained the deluge down
To cover roof and hill and mound.
Rainbows are there reminding us
His power can be swift and just
Our weakness is that we can’t see
His vision of eternity !
Who’s asking for another chance
One more wish, perhaps one last dance
What has been said along this line,
Maybe this time it will be fine ?
I’d like to believe there is hope
That still exists a way to cope,
A path that leads to peace and calm
To keep us safe from hurt and harm.
Who dares to dream, you know it’s me
I trust God’s generosity !
Oh little lamb, so calm and still
I sight you there upon the hill
Why is it that you quiet wait
Aside that height in passive state ?
What is it that you seem to see
That’s still invisible to me,
Who is expected to arrive
To bring you peace as you survive ?
Oh simple and unfettered lamb
How may I learn just who I am ?
This nation that we love so much
Seems to have lost its common touch
And travels on a road unknown
While seeds of discontent are sown.
This promised land that God has blessed
Has lost its aim, is in distress
Now choosing to deny our faith
By following an avid wraith.
Oh Lord above, please guide our fate
We ask of You, it’s not too late ?
Great flocks of seagulls fill the sky
My heart now hopes that spring is nigh
Oh, what a marvelous surprise
A blessed sight for worn out eyes !
