Too soon, my Lord, I give and share
For You, my dreams of hope and care
Begin and end in joyful praise
I beg of You, Your peaceful ways.
Protect me Lord, I’ll ask no more
Than that Your heart’s an open door
That offers me a final choice,
Lift up my heart and hear my voice !

Oh blessed Lord, do hear my plea
Have pity on a child like me
I am Your servant sad and low
That folows ever where You go
I wait Your Word with rapid breath
For I am Yours until my death.
There is no day without Your Light
Nor any love that shines so bright
The angels sing Your praise on high
Their voices reaching for the sky
The flutter of their wings is heard
They echo every single word.
I love You Lord and always will
Until earth’s sounds at last are still !
Oh how my love plays tricks on me
And gathers up my sympathy
My eyes are full of sweet surprise
With all the joy of each sunrise
Observe God’s will with constant heart
Stay true to values from the start
Believe in your own destiny
Keep faith alive and courage free
Always remember God is there
To save us whether foul or fair !
There was a street that I used to know
When I was a girl so long ago
With an old house that had three large floors
Lots of windows and quite a few doors.
Dozens of roses, black iron torch
Both back yard and front, plus a great porch
Tomatoes, peppers, carnations too
A home full of love much overdue
As I’ve wandered down memory’s lane
Couldn’t help singing a glad refrain
Reminding myself God loves us all
Whether we’re skinny, fat, short or tall !
How often is it that we think
This world of ours is on the brink
That maybe we’ll fall off the ledge
Or slip as we sit on the edge
I’m truly stuck in reverse gear
What happens next can hold no fear !
Oh sad the day the Christ did die
And bid this world His last goodbye
He suffered there upon the cross
While the whole world endured the loss.
God’s darkness fell that distant day
And since then has not passed away
We’re ready Lord, and waiting here
For You at last to reappear !

Oh how I wish that I had wings
To fly up high where angels sing
And visit in their choir loft
As day begins, the light is soft
How sweet and clear their voices are
The notes ring out both near and far.
Oh how I pray that I might be
A part of their community
Just think of all the joy we’d share
If somehow I could tarry there
Truth is that cannot be the case
Cause I’m part of the human race !
There she is our Lady Liberty
Symbol of this safe home of the free
She’s the grandest of all that we sight
There in the Harbor each day and night.
She spurs us on to do greater things
Like prayers we say and hymns we sing
We’ll join our hearts and hands together
Through pleasant days or stormy weather.
Let’s ask our God to protect us all
In case old Satan decides to call !
I’d like to think that I recall
The tender years when I was small,
I sat upon my grandpa’s knee
And snuggled while he read to me.
There was a story I loved best
Both head and shoulders o’er the rest
About the night our Christ was born
And how the world rejoiced that morn
As angels sang and skies did glow
The world did kneel and honor show.
God placed His star high in the sky
With earth to note its passing by,
His promise of eternal peace
And from all sin, at last release !

I hear the bells, they call to me
They ring aloud in harmony
A song of sweetness that is clear
Falls softly on the list’ning ear.
I’m sure the angels hum the tune
Both morning, night and afternoon
The music swells into the air
It’s magic meant to linger there.
How glorious that all should be
Our praises to God’s majesty !
Rage, rage against the coming storm
Its days are here before too long
Look to the sky, approaching morn
Ere their currents become too strong.
The times are changing oh, so fast
As all our values soon get lost
Into one role they shall be cast
With no way left to count the cost !
I see the rooftops through the trees
The sun now bouncing off the eaves
The sky is clear and ever bright
I do not see a bird in sight
The silence echoes in my ears
Allaying all my aged fears
But soon the sun must fade away
To morph into some yesterday
My life continues as it goes
Just on and on till heaven knows !
Man cannot live without a dream
Believing elsewise is extreme
How difficult without a cause
Our lives are dull and lack applause
There is a vision all do need
To raise each up, to help succeed
We have a God, be not afraid
He is our Friend, our Help, our Aid
And in the end when life seems done
Tis when our journey’s just begun !
I see the clouds caught in the trees
They all seem frozen in the breeze
Oh how I wish that I could try
To touch their fluff while passing by
But heaven is so far away
Is it a space where angels play ?
I guess that I will never know
If it’s a place I’d like to go
There is so much right here to see
It might just take eternity
Appears I have more time, it seems
To gather up forgotten dreams !
When I was small and but a child
I spoke in manner sweet and mild
Twas not a time of angry ways
For kindness dwelt in all our days.
We spared each other any pain
Determined to help and explain
Our words displayed the constant grace
Of honesty while face to face.
How clever that our role should be
To echo God’s integrity
And live with honor all our days
To seek God’s love and sing His Praise !
My dearest child, I miss your voice
I know there is no other choice
In times as these we need be strong
To caution’s cause we must belong
Be kind to those who’ve tried so hard
To keep the faith and walk with God
Remember always to be fair
That of God’s bounty all may share
Please grant us peace day after day
Help each to follow in His way !

The winter winds blow far and near
I hear the sounds upon my ear
Windows rattle, panes gather frost
I hope my woolies won’t get lost.
The icy branches crackle so
Beware to those who pass below
The limbs of trees all striking bare
Does leave no warmth for all to share.
Oh winter, have you come to stay
I’m wishing that you’ll go away
With all the troubles that we see
Let’s pray that we remain snow free !
The sun is rising o’er the hill
The air is motionless and still
There’s not a breeze stirs in the trees
As if the day’s caught in a freeze
The room is silent and alone
A truly antiseptic zone.
Oh how I wish that I could fly
Up to a haven in the sky
But guess that I may only dream
Of my unrealistic scheme
Oh Lord above, help me to find
Some safety and true peace of mind !
Oh see the wind rage through the trees
Like rolling waves on angry seas
Above those masts that rise so high
As giant arms reach for the sky
They swing and sway to touch each cloud
While seagulls screech and cry aloud.
Give me the strength to pass the test
And courage to survive the rest
How many dreams have come and gone
That we have pinned our hopes upon
To find at last we shall succeed
Because our love exceeds our need !
I see the willows in the wood
The branches wave like willows should
They sweep the air in mock surprise
To shake the dreamdust from my eyes
For dreaming is what I do best
When I no longer can protest
The world about me and its pain
That cries aloud again, again
Oh Blessed Lord, have mercy please
I come to You on bended knees
Help save me from old Satan’s might
Should he discover me some night !
Can you hear the rain as it pelts down
Raining so hard all the worms may drown
Midst streams of water hitting the ground
Like rivers pushing the leaves around ?
Oh, what a day that today has been
With rain pouring down windows and trim
There’s a storm outside we can’t let in
Lest we raise the sash to ask it in !
I love You Lord, You are to me
My joy and life’s Epitome
The whipped cream on my piece of cake
Like mushrooms on my filet steak.
You’re the Beginning and the End
Of all my dreams and my best Friend
I need Your love to help me now
To get me through these days somehow !

I am so glad I can recall
The bygone days when I was small
I’d sit upon my nana’s lap
All snug and warm in cozy wrap
And get to spend much of my days
In comfort close under her gaze
For all my life, I’ll never find
Another who would be so kind
Her gentle ways and crooked smile
Made early life for me worthwhile
There is a thought hums through my brain
Reminds one of an old refrain
Familiar words I’ve heard before
What is it we are waiting for ?
Our Precious Lord and Sacred Dove,
The Prince of Peace from up above
Fulfilling promises God gave
To save us from the Final Grave.
I hear the bells ring out for me
They sing a song of unity
The melody I recognize
It brings tears to my tired eyes.
The night is father to the dawn
That breaks upon the early morn
To teach each all the patterns of
God and His never ending love !
A little bit of heaven entered my life one day
Seems so very long ago and ever far away
And through all the many years he grew to be a man
He learned to live a life complete as most persons can.
Well that was yesterday and he’s gone, by now you know
Never seemed to me that he would be the first to go
As I recall every moment of what used to be
And of the life we knew like an ancient history.
But he’s no longer here and I miss his gentle touch
I remember his last words ” Mom I love you so much ! ”
“GOODBYE”
Seems today’s life has its ups and downs
In this world that’s full of smiles and frowns
With its portion of both laughs and tears
Enough to last us a dozen years.
Thus we come and go and only find
The path we have chosen will unwind
So we’ll take our chances come what may
And praise our Lord for each precious day !
Too many must risk life and limb
In foreign lands beyond the rim
Let’s return them all home at last
And bury disputes of the past
We need once more a brand new start
A smarter way, a bigger heart
Tis time to lift our eyes above
Seek greater wisdom from God’s love
Apply His ethics one by one
And keep His law until we’ve done !
