I am grown bold and chance to have the thought
To exit from this web in which I’m caught
A web spun of old thread and newer dreams
Escape’s not always easy as it seems !
I am grown bold and chance to have the thought
To exit from this web in which I’m caught
A web spun of old thread and newer dreams
Escape’s not always easy as it seems !
Today’s the day I need to say
I thank You Lord for every day
The love and care, the food and drink
And all the pleasant thoughts I think.
My heart is Yours forevermore
I’ve never felt this way before
I promise that I shall be true
And vow to live my life for You !
Oh that we might remember well
The classic tales that wisemen tell
Of love and pain and avarice
And joy and fear and fate amiss.
See how the world progresses on
From Eden into Babylon
The changes wrought may interfere
With what you’re taught year after year.
I yearn to taste the glory old
That laces stories I’ve been told
The magic’s gone from all we see
Leaving but mediocrity !
I’ve had this dream that comes and goes
From fingertips to tippytoes
Yet what it means none but God knows.
When I was small and loved to play
I’d splash in water all the day
Closeby the ocean or the bay.
I’ve spent my life beside the sea
It’s where I feel both safe and free
And where my ashes placed will be.
In sleep I hear the ocean’s roar
I sense the gulls that o’erhead soar
And pray that I still hug God’s shore !
Lions and tigers in a row
And when they move where do they go
Into the jungles of the mind
Midst fantasies we yearn to find.
Camels and horses are there too
Waiting faithful for me and you
With rainbowed colors they all wear
In their wild flowing sculpted hair.
Seems right for us to ride away
When organ music pipes to play
As round in circles we must go
Until it’s time for life’s next show !
How sad am I that I can’t fly
Like Icarus, I can but try
More sad indeed that when I do
I seem a fool to quite a few.
Tis hard to be just one more guy
Who tried and fell out of the sky
I need to find some path that’s new
To reinvent my old virtue !
My advice to you my darling friend
Is take time to dream before the end
Do it now ere you have fully grown
It curries magic you have not known
Supplying cushions to fall upon
As life turns into a marathon !
There was a child who wandered far
To chase that bright elusive star
He jumped and leapt to catch the light
That paled the shadows of the night
And took his heart to worlds beyond
With meadows lush and mystic pond.
He sallied forth in vesture grand
To greet each day with outstretched hand
He took the chance to dream anew
To open doors, to life be true
While all the time the hope grew strong
He’d find the spot where he belonged !
On wings of hope our dreams take flight
To carry us through troubled night
Up to the clouds above our heads
While we sleep tight upon our beds.
For dreams can be the sweetest things
As we escape on quilted wings,
Then wish no more my precious child
That days will be both kind and mild.
Our God shall greet us as we fly
Into His arms with lullaby
And sing a song there while we sleep
To cradle all the fears we keep
And waken with the mornings light
To other fortunes beaming bright !
There is one truth of which I’m sure
The infants heart is good and pure
His innocence exists innate,
While growing he is taught to hate.
A child that’s raised in wisdoms care
Is one who learns to give and share.
His kindly deeds and honest ways
Will closely shadow all his days,
And if we shower him with cheer
One day may lead us out of fear.
Can it be that I’m a dreamer who fritters life away
And does not have the sense at least to try another way ?
True I don’t have the answer as to what my life should be
But I hope that God approves if I choose humility.
I’m dreaming here with all my might
From early morn to darkest night
My courage failing like some child
Who’s seen his hero’s fame defiled.
Oh small sad sight, I worry much
That I will lose my magic touch
And miss the hope that will be gone
If there’s no star to wish upon.
Sometimes I wish that I could fly     Â
Above the sadness that I spy   Â
Into the safety of the sea    Â
To swim with mermaids and live free .
Across the world I’d sail insideÂ
A fairy ship that travels wide  Â
On ocean waves while sea nymphs sing   Â
And bid me smile remembering .

The fog slips in like a shroud eclipsing the panorama
of the mountain’s sides
Where life is as a winging that must soar above the pall
or suffer all it hides.
Some context of this vast unchartered wilderness which
is the confines of my heart
And breeches o’er those valleys, there within the depths
of ignorance that was my start,
Has brought to me upon its beaten breast a shallow
consciousness of what I am
That whistles on the winds of plains wherein reside both
king of beasts and gentle lamb.
There time itself will bare the seed that lives with joy
or dies alone in discontent
As it fulfills an aim that is the longing of the soul or
of the mind, intent.
To move with space and wander in its bright expanse
beneath the sky where mood began
There, confirming this great world is an elegant cushion
for the footfalls of man
And as such must cradle his intense wish to dream and
hope and love and laugh and cry,
For man without one dream is a garden that never blooms
and does not wonder why.
