My words are so piled up inside
I cannot find a place to hide
Sometimes I think I will explode
If I should drop this heavy load.
But who am I to judgement make
About what will or will not break
How’d I manage to live so long
Without the lyrics of the song ?
This God I love does understand
And led me thus far by the hand
He’s taught me all the rules I know
My true Rock and Safe Place to go !
Turn on the lights, the dark is here
It is that dismal time of year
After the harvest and the fall
Winter becomes the king of all.
Since we are captive to its power
Day after day, and hour by hour
To learn the lesson is a must
If we are e’er to earn His trust !
There are so many ways to say
I love you each and every day
A kiss, a hug, a smile or two
Will do the trick to get one through.
A voice that’s gentle, ever kind
With not a single edge to grind
True honesty in all you do
Dependable, trustworthy too,
These are the qualities you’ll need
To be a winner and succeed !
I took the path along the way
Because I knew I would not stray
The trail was long, the road was straight
My caution was I must not wait .
While age and time have much to share
About the ways in which we care
For in the end what e’er we do
Determines what and where and who !
As I reflect on years gone by
And all the times I’ve said goodbye
To those faces I have adored
With so much feeling that I’ve stored
In the recess of my best part
The center of my loving heart.
Hold on, hold on, we’re not yet done
There is lots more that is to come
Open your arms and your heart too
Because your best is up to you !
The dreams we knew when we were small
To be quite true, who can recall
These days long gone, like those forgot
Midst times that we remember not ?
There are some hours passed in content
Twixt those that were uncaring spent
A myriad of loving thought
That fills our lives with lessons taught.
Shall we admit our passions loss
Or ignore bad behavior’s cost,
What will it take to understand
Too much of life is underhand ?
I wish I knew that you and I
Would never have to say goodbye
And that our friendship would live on
Until the day we both are gone.
How foolish since that cannot be
For we both share mortality
And so old friend we must prepare
When you and I no longer share !
If you feel lost, misunderstood
Divorced from God, devoid of good
Perhaps your prayers can interfere
And help your faith become more clear !
Whate’er you do there is this fact
Your poor behavior will detract
From any help you may receive
If you continue to deceive !
For God’s all seeing, ever kind
You need to leave your angst behind
His grace is there reach out your hand
Beg His mercy He’ll understand !
