Love is the strength I lean upon
My faith, my hope, my carry on
Without the Lord where would I be
Alone in some lost company.
I never thought I’d spend my days
At last in one forgotten haze
The final exit left for me
Is labeled God’s eternity !
Love is the strength I lean upon
My faith, my hope, my carry on
Without the Lord where would I be
Alone in some lost company.
I never thought I’d spend my days
At last in one forgotten haze
The final exit left for me
Is labeled God’s eternity !
The open window invites the breeze
To sashay in from beneath the trees
Take a dance around a room or two
Sharing fresh air between me and you.
Enjoy the night times secret pleasure
Amidst the joys we all do treasure
Remember how fast the seasons fly
Before we each have to bid goodbye
As the nights grow cool before the dawn
And the years we loved are too soon gone !
Whatever war that has been fought
Tis one more lesson to be taught
For no one wins as each has lost
And every war does have great cost.
Sometimes it takes a lifetime long
To hear the ring of freedom’s song
There is a price that all must pay
To win the battle of the day.
Therefore when lives do meet their end
And each has chosen foe and friend
The choice one makes on that last day
Will stand forever, come what may !
So often that I’ve wished to be
The star upon your Christmas tree
A candle on your birthday cake
And privy to each wish you make.
I prayed quite hard that you and I
Would be together by and by
And now my world is part of yours
You’re my umbrella when it pours.
There is a God who watches o’er
His children that He does adore
I’m positive He loves us all
And picks us up ere we should fall
I’m sure He knew that we might be
In love for all eternity !
See the calendar pages fly
The days are fleet and passing by
From March to June, so seeming blest
Continueing through all the rest
There is no halting summer, fall
Or any time each year at all !
I hear the whisp’ring of the shadows now
Assuring me twill come aright somehow
I could not bear to see that handsome face
Placed in a box in some secluded place
Of all the things he truly could not be
Confined to earth’s morose eternity,
So God above, who hears a mother’s plea,
Be kind to him and keep him close to Thee !
AMEN.
We’ll miss you love, when you have gone
And seek God’s strength to carry on
Twill be so strange as in this case
We’ll ne’er again meet face to face.
Nor shall we ever ” tete a tete ”
As soon we may tend to forget
How much we pray for one last kiss
Too late we all have been remiss !
There is a door, where does it go
The truth is that I do not know
There is a place beyond the stair
I do not care how it got there.
What is it looms behind that door
The one that all are searching for
How will I know what we will share
I have no fear, God will be there !
My heart is full it heaves a sigh
Too soon my love, we bid goodbye
I will to you one fact revealed
Your love should never be concealed
For words that you have left unsaid
Shall not be heard once you are dead !
Let’s say goodbye to summer’s days
With all her happy carefree ways
It’s sunny nature, flimsy clothes
A boater’s call of “thar she blows”,
A picnic lunch upon the beach
And no place left the sand can’t reach !
Well times do show and pass away
As we wake to another day
And realise that summer’s gone
While fall’s been left to carry on
But wait, there must be more to see
For time does reach eternity !
I’d like to think that I am blessed
In my constant and desired quest
To find the peace I’m sure exists
Someplace beyond where patience sits.
So guard your tongue, be kind to all
Remember pride doth have its fall,
Our Jesus Christ, so humble He
Has promised us eternity !
There is small consolation here
Among the bones all crushed and sere
The dead are much like ground-up dust
They cease to be as we all must.
