The tears I shed are not for me
But for all those who used to be
Part of our world now gone astray
Like ashes of life’s yesterday.
Once each possessed a name and face
And came from a familial place
They lived, they loved, they breathed the air
And met the destiny all share.
How strange that we who’ve stayed behind
Have yet our destinies to find
With nought a hint of what comes next
Of where to go or whom to text !
AMEN.
