Oh squirrel, squirrel on the wall
You are the greatest thief of all
I see you quickly moving in
And stand up tall as you begin
The slightest sound makes you flash freeze
You look as rigid as the trees.
You do not move one tiny bit
Your eyeballs glaze without a twit
I’ve tried quite hard but I can’t hold
A candle to your posture bold
Your garment fades into the fence
I guess that’s part of God’s defence.
You don’t seem big enough to eat
You are all fur with little meat
Oh frisky rodent you must play
Another role in God’s display
There must be other jobs you do
For God to take such care of you !
