I knew a man once long ago
Who told me that life was a show
Where ego pranced upon the stage
Like temper tantrums or a rage.
That some preferred an audience
To fill their lives with confidence
While others still opted to be
The bastions of hilarity.
That underneath we’re all the same
With each one playing at the game
Some quiet, thoughtful, strong and bold
Or loving, kind, a heart of gold.
There is no gauge to measure man
We all make do the best we can !
