This life is full of mix and match
Grab anything that you can catch
Hold on because you never know
What opportunities will show.
It may not seem to be enough
Though often when the going’s tough
There is a lesson we need learn
That each of us must wait our turn !
I look around, what do I see
A world debauched in infamy
My heart cries out, Lord help us all
Please save us from old Satan’s call.
The evil that occurs right here
Weighs heavy on eyes, mind and ear
Where is the strength we need to find
The courage to leave sin behind
Desert us not, dear gracious God
The path ahead seems really hard !
It’s only in the arms of God
That true redemption will be found
Sometimes that task seems just so hard
And forces one into the ground !
I’m on a journey I’m traveling alone
The passage is slow and the cast is unknown
It’s terribly far and sometimes it’s too dark
I must carry on though its outcome is stark.
I’ve been on this road for a very long time
How I wish it would end it’s such a steep climb
My spirit is weary more so with each day
When I’ve reached the conclusion I’ll kneel and pray.
It’s a cumbersome thought that now piques the mind
At the finish of life what is it we’ll find ?
